If I had the time I'd refute every single one of those but I'll just have to leave you with the knowledge that I disagree without justification.

Cafe racers have not been about aesthetics until stock bikes replaced the need for stripped down bikes.
People like the aesthetic because it represents an ideal, but that ideal is found in other bikes today. There is nothing about cafe racers that makes them inherently superior visually.

the origin of cafe racers were degenerate street kids who tooled around on their bikes.
those bikes that were 2-cylinder, 2-stroke, carburated pieces of shit were running on caveman technology.
they kept the body panels and extraneous shit off of it because it either got in the way of maintenance and repairs or was broken in the first place.
the reason that it's so very aesthetic is because it's macho and minimalistic.
it implies that you work on your bike and have some intimate knowledge of your machine.
a bike that is shaped like a lump of quicksilver with ABS and EFI and huge lights and fairings and fenders doesn't have the same authenticity.

Calm down Mr. Macho Man, first of all CBs never had fairings so there way nothing to take off, modern cafe racers just have a chopped down frame and clip ons. There is nothing macho about it and you look like an idiot redlining a piece of shit to keep up with highway traffic.

Also, if you realize what a pain in the ass it is to work on adjusting the jetting on a 4cyl bike, especially a low displacement 250-400 cc bike you will understand the need for efi. Efi gives better performance hands down. That's not to say that efi and abs are a must on a bike.

If you want to be macho get a 1000cc supersport and trade in your skinny jeans and half helmet for a set of leathers and go racing on the street. You will realize the balls it requires to take corners at 3x the speed limit not knowing what's around the corner. These machines are superior, faster and have a much better aesthetic even with scratched up fairings then any cafe racer. Hell they are cheaper than the CBs.

How the hell do you guys get such cool bikes? The nearest motorcycle shop to my hometown is dozens of miles away and I can't drive (driving cars on busy freeways kinda scares me) there unless I want to get my dad or a friend to take me. And even then, the store owners may ask if I have experience riding a motorcycle. How did you all learn to ride?

I could probably find a used bike in town, but they all look like something a dad would ride. Do I need to do extensive modifications to make have that sweet UJM look of most of the bikes in this thread?

Especially the seat. How much would it take to replace one of those seats where they dip in the front with one of these more better looking, flat all around seats?
