im starting graduate school soon and I will be composing it of COS and CPs for a bit of ivy mixed with techno interests me.
If you can afford it, maybe Lanvin and MMM?

J.Crew and Ralph Lauren have been trying to do exactly that for like the last 10 years. To a lesser degree, Vineyard Vines, Lacoste, Sperry, Club Monaco, etc - all fall into that category with varying levels of success. Brooks Brothers' Red Fleece is also okay.

The game is really just avoiding the common traps. The fit must be impeccable, so that comes first - you can't buy random shit from Brooks Brothers and expect it to look nice. In equal form, avoid stodgy design shit, like pleated wool pants, baggy sweaters, excessively baggy shirtsleeves, etc.

Believe it or not you sound a lot like me. If I can suggest anything, ivy leagues are just like any other college. The people here are just as stupid as any plebs at regular state schools. It actually pisses me off here at MIT. Our society, and my dad, put so much prestige on these schools when they are pretty shit.

So essentially just dress like yourself. For me that means cps, Thom brown pants or similar, and whatever top I feel like wearing. You don't have to spend a bunch of money, although good shoes are essential for making a good outfit. Best of luck.
