I've had the old leather ones and they're MUCH nicer than the current (or at least, last season) regular leather versions, much more substantial and comfy.

I think current leather isn't as nice as the canvas ones, compared to last seasons leather Ramones I'd rather wear my cap-less canvas or waxed canvas ones.

Reverse leather are rad though, and the nylon coated from last year and the new Sphinx ones look sick.

So what Rick shoes/etc is everyone currently wearing?

I only own his sneakers (don't need any boots other than my MA+) and currently wear black waxed canvas Ramones and an all-black reverse leather Island Dunks (the laceless ones) that I love.

I'm looking also to cop some pants or shorts, they're so comfy, anyone selling any?

>if anyone is interested
I'm currently selling a pair of Ramones in black canvas, the ones with no toe-cap. Love them, but I wear sneakers less than boots so I don't need so many pairs. Barely worn.

Also have a cotton tech-ish material intarsia moto jacket that's fantastic midweight and a DRKSHDW denim jacket, I just don't wear them enough, want em in a good home.

Still don't get your criticism. It's the same general shapes (with occasional variations in proportion and scale) that he's been making for years. Culturally, we're acclimated to the idea of a tuxedo and button-up shirts, so if you've been following Rick for decades and you're after novelty, then maybe it'll seem like he's run out of ideas.

But the people who wear it, aren't after novelty. They're looking for an alternative and once they've found it, the repetition and variation are reassuring ways to reinforce what you like and what feels natural for you to wear.

I can wholly appreciate if you had something to say that was actually pointed (e.g. "I think that the less finessed work from his LA days is more interesting than the added refinement and sophisticated that Italian manufacturing has lent to Rick's work"), but I have yet to read it. All I've read so far is one person that is dissatisfied with how other people choose to dress. If you don't like it, don't wear it. If you don't want to read about it, hide the thread.

Maximize your pleasure, minimize your aggravation.

Not judging but how much income do you guys actually have to be dumping thousands on these pieces, where do you live that wearing most of this is convenient all the time.

This feels like a style where you don't wear this one day and then the gap the next.

Any sneaker lined in leather is going to be pretty comfortable, especially if it's padded. I don't know if I would say that Rick sneakers are heads and shoulders above similarly marketed designer brands (e.g. Balenciaga, Pierre Hardy, Margiela), but of course a lot of what you're paying for is the styling.

But yeah, most full leather sneakers with full leather linings produced in Italy (and Portugal, to a lesser extent) are going to be more comfortable than mass market things that are lined in textiles (mesh). Of course, textile linings are more practical for actual sports, so you really do need to think of them as separate products.

DRKSHDW is the diffusion line, they tend to use less expensive materials such as canvas in replacement of leather etc etc to get the same look without the price tag.

This doesnt mean they are made to a poorer standard though.

The easiest example is the Mainline ramones are Leather (horse, calf) and the DS ones are waxed, treated or plain canvas, or mesh etc etc

>>10073651
I havent got any experience personally with any DS tees unfortunatly, /fa/scist is probably going to be the person to ask but i'm going to assume that quality wise theyre going to be pretty similar.

The mainline tees use different materials aswell though such as silk/wool blends or bamboo and maybe the DS ones are just standard cotton to keep them cheaper than the mainline, i'm not sure

Quality on DRKSHDW is on par with mainline, just different materials and boxier, sportier cuts. Hell, a lot of people would probably argue that drkshdw is higher quality due to how substantial a lot of the material is, depending on what you value most - durability or a soft drape.

That said mainline can easily be cut into your prefered length (I do this) and hemmed (I don't do this) and they won't fray from the bottom (now they here)

..And there's always some drkshdw in super lux materials and vice versa, so it's about as easy to keep up with as sizing, hehe. Two of my fav rick pieces are these super soft semi-sheer DRKSHDW printed long sleeves, which I'd deffo pin as mainline if I didn't know they were drkshdw.

Point being: It's not a diffusion line in the sense that the materials are worse than mainline, they're just different materials but quality-wise on par with the rest. Cotton will always be cheaper than silk, regardless of how soft/thick/substantial/adjective it is.

>> No.10073868

>>10073566

Same factories, same patterns, different fabrics.

This isn't to say that DRKSHDW uses cheap fabrics. A DRKSHDW nylon top could be as expensive or more expensive than a cotton mainline one. Just think of them as different takes on the same look. I actually buy a lot of DRKSHDW because I hate dry cleaning and I prefer cottons that I can machine wash.

>>10073651
>>10073659

DRKSHDW now has a ribbed cotton long-sleeve that is comparable to the mainline ones, but I would pass. Best DRKSHDW tees are the thin B (Bardazzi) jersey pieces, usually done with a finished hem and ribbed cuffs.

How often something needs to be washed varies a lot tbh, a shirt can get rank in like an hour if you're hungover in the sun or last multiple wears if you stay fresh. Personally I've never experienced this problem, but that's probably a mix of having a lot of shirts (which is what eventually happens when you spend a few years picking up pieces here and there) and doing your laundry often.

Technically you COULD wear the same shirt every day if you just wash it in the evenings, but that'd feel a bit weird.

WhIle i agree to a large extent, you are failing to recognise that perception of an aesthetic does not exist in a vacuum. I saw two stylezeitgeistmidlifecrisislookingleatherdaddies wearing ramone boots the other day. If shit like that doesnt affect the way you see the clothes, then well done, you have reached some kind of aesthetic objectvism.

don't want to write a long post, but this is similar to why brands like Nike (despite being a huge multinational corporation) have always been thougt of as cool and assoiated with subversive youth culture. Young poor cool people wear them because they don't know any better, then we think that nikes look good.

This is a reallly confused post but my point is basically that where/how we see some clothes being worn affects how we aesthetically appraise them.

Depends on what they see. The suiting looks a bit like Jack Skellington proportions with the long, slightly flared sleeves, nipped waist, and high slits.

The casual stuff just looks like more exaggerated typicaly sportswear/loungewear.

>>10082693

The Psycho sweaters? They were oversized, but you'd still probably take your true size so it doesn't fall right off you.

Owned a brand new traditional nylon flight bomber. Honestly so dope. Better if you get a fitted one. The wool on the cuffs and rubbing is so soft and the jacket itself is very warm. Inner pockets are also so handy and so big.

Would recommend.

Infinitely better than my acne hydra.

As an extra, do not size up. It creates these ugly pockets of extra material on your chest and the zipper looks gross as it doesn't sit straight. Buy the oversized version if you want a baggy fit.

I think you'll find that the color will be easy to incorporate into outfits. But you'll probably be able to dye them just fine. Don't pick up Rit dye from the grocery store or something like that. Use a better brand, read directions carefully, and be careful, with water temps and stuff. Good luck

It can mean that a rubber sole has been glued onto the original sole to protect it or that the original sole was replaced entirely. There is also topies, or plastic heels in carrying sizes that cover entire heels or just a small area on the edge where heel drag concurs.

Pods. Note that "Boxer" is now an established style in the line (the wider, shorter shorts), so though the terms were a bit more interchangeable in the past, it's less the case now.

The question which is asked a million times a day. Could I fit a 43 in Rick baskets/ramones, I'm normally a 44 in Nikes. But because I don't want them to be sooo long, I've thought about buying them a size smaller. Also because I tried on a pair of milk geobaskets from this season, and I had to size down two sizes (a 42). The shopkeeper told me though, that others had to size down around two sizes. So I'm really confused about my "real" size. So should I just go for it?
