Can we talk interior design and decoration here or is that more /diy/ territory?

They look cool and all but what's the point!? They also make it harder for you to change the purpose of the room and cost a fuck ton for seating that's just a meter lower down.

Yeah, I prefer normal couch positioning

I feel like while it looks cool it's very impractical for when you need new furniture or want to move stuff around.

>>10065638
I like the idea of 3d printed furniture for the sake of frugality but the way it looks would be hard to tie into a traditional livingspace.

Agreed. Those things are also easy for people to fall into, collect dust and dirt, and limit your options in terms of interior decorating. They are a great idea in theory that falls apart in practice.

Design is way too busy. 3/10

Way too many conflicting patterns, all that striped clashing with three different floral patterns

The loveseat across from the couch really stops up the walkability of the room as well. There are already tons of seats in the room. Is one in the middle of the walkway really necessary?

Those oak floors look great. Why would they cover them up with huge rugs? Maybe have one at the very most underneath the couch or by the reading area.

As for the coffee table and end tables, why even have them if you're just gonna stack clutter on them? I see tons of empty space on the book shelves yet there are stacks of books and magazines and nowhere to put your coffee. There are also lamps and/or candles on every single surface. Those windows are huge, you don't need that many light sources.

Speaking of book shelves, why do you need more than one or two? All of them look to only have anywhere from a fourth of the space to three quarters of the space actually filled with books. The rest is just nicknacks and clutter. You could probably fit all the books in that room on two shelves. Four is way too many.

Bump. I recently moved to a new apartment and now I need some interior decoration.

What are some things that don't cost too much, but make your room more /fa/?

25/male/single if that matters.

Repurposed stuff can give your livingspace a really traditional yet modern vibe that would be appropriate for a young adult pad

You should look into pallet coffee tables

They're cheap, and even cheaper if you make them yourself.

As far as furniture goes, get whatever works with your wall and floor colors. Staying neutral is the best way to go. Don't go for anything with floral or vibrant patterns. Keep it smooth and simple.

Where can I find decent art to put around my apartment that is not going to be thousands of dollars

I have a black leather couch against an eggshell white wall and my hardwood floor is a darker color and I have nothing on the walls because I can't find anything decent. Ideas?

eBay

Also you can't go wrong with large maps. You can get huge classroom maps for pretty cheap on amazon. Works best in traditional decor tho.

what do you guys think of pipe clothing racks

>> No.10066754

>>10066750

Fun for a bit, but such a pain in the long run. I switched out of heavy full pipe racks a little under two years ago and I'm so happy I did. Big brass cut pipes suspended galvanized steel. Still the pipe look, but with easier care and much less hassle. I am talking about it in terms of retail interiors, though, so it's a different perspective.

>> No.10066759

>>10066754
what kind of a hassle was it?

>> No.10066769

>>10066759

Moving them around was always a pain and adding more pieces to make it secure only made them heavier and even more hassle to move. Also, the shape itself means that your rack has a wider stance than actual space available and you have to account for the large footprint required to make it stable.

I get the appeal and for the right person's home or the right store, it can make a lot of sense. I just came to realize that it wasn't for me.
