I'm down with the sandals. Also glad to see he's doing the stretch leather from Sphinx again but fuck shell toes. Like the mirrored sawtooth tho. Overall, meh, wasn't a fan of the first iteration of the rick tech runner sole. Really hard look to pull off, kinda disappointing to see he's running with it for 2 more collections although I'm all aboard the Sphinx variant.

All that being said, just copped pic related at full reduc from ssense :))))

Is Rick Owens snow pleb tier?

Every store like Zara, H&M, Simons, etc. now carry clothes a-la Rick. In free newspapers like Metro, they talk about Rick Owens in the fashion columns. Even last year, most hipsters were clueless about Rick Owens, but it seems that nowadays, most hipsters are hip to Rick Owens.

To me, Rick Owens brand is devalued. Even if i never owned a single item by Rick Owens, i think it's time to move on.

>>10054771

I don't know if you necessarily need more explanation than that. I like a lot of the art and architecture references that abound in his work, so that's an added layer of enjoyment for me, but I don't think it's required by any means. Honestly, the softness and comfort are probably the single biggest draw for people who don't know Rick and handle the clothes.

>> No.10054955

>>10054771

Opaqueness? Not sure that word means what you think it means, I've never owned a Rick tee or sweater that wasn't a little bit sheer

Secondly, it's really fucking difficult to explain why you like what you do. It's a difficult exercise no matter what you're talking about. I like rick because he has a consistent enough aesthetic that I enjoy while being interesting enough every season to keep me purchasing his pieces. They are surprisingly versatile once you build enough pieces in the vein of his aesthetic. I also like how tailored it is while still being dark and "edgy" for lack of a better word. He is clearly a phenomenal tailor and apparently a master pattern maker. lastly, I love that his pieces never seem to have dumb details that often ruin things for me. I like his attention to detail.

Also I'm tall and skinny so he stuff naturally fits me exactly how I've always wanted clothes to fit on me.
