Salicylic acid is for exfoliation which you do after cleansing followed by toner and moisturizer.

stridex pads are literally makeup remover pads soaked in alchol with 2% medication mixed in

it will wipe away any other shit you apply before hand

think

>> No.9894350

>>9894334
No, at most you should put it on maybe 3-4 times a week at night.

Cleanser -> stridex -> moisturizer

>> No.9894535

>>9894348
>depends
did you really expect that answer to be useful to anyone at all?

also: stridex pads are not makeup remover pads. they're not meant to be that. they're acne treatment pads with salicylic acid. having make-up on when using the pads will make the stridex work less good against acne.

also: you're wrong about the alcohol part: all of the pads from stridex are alcohol-free.

plz read up before contributing
you're not helping anyone by being wrong

YES, you can use BHA every night. You can Google it if you want. Ignore the uneducated losers >>9894348

>>9894535
Good answer
I think they meant MENTHOL, not alcohol. Menthol has a drying effect for some people. The pads aren't really "soaked" in it by any means, so that guy is still a fucking loser

a full routine is

1. cleasner plus optional exfoliate
2. toner
3. serum
4. moisturizer
5. specialized moisturizer for like under eyes and wrinkles.

but your skin looks nice and you don't need all that. what's your damage?

>> No.9896630

How to incorporate AHA and BHA into a routine? I have st Ives pads and stridex that I've been using mainly just as maintenance and to even out my skin.

>> No.9896724

Do most cleansers also have an exfoliant in it?

I use Neutrogena Acne Wash which is an orange gel that also had 2% Salcylic in it.

This is all I use but I still have some acne on my jawline.

Also, would a full regimen fix this?

How does shaving fit into this? I have to do a close shave every morning for work, so where do I do all this in order to avoid irritation and red bumps if I still want to exfoliate toner clean?

>> No.9897731

Do some more research, but I've read that you can use BHA, wait 20 or so minutes, then use your AHA. Apparently AHA works well on clean, non-oily skin. So when you're face feels a bit dry after you do BHA it supposedly works more effectively. Your results may vary, incorporate it little by little into your routine

Do you mean actual puffy bags of skin under the eyes, or do you mean dark bags/dark circles under the eyes? Occasionally confused.

>>9898989
Have you ever heard of rosacea? Usually starts with redness in the nose/cheek area and other parts of the face. Other conditions could be dermatitis (eczema), dry/irritated skin (from excessive washing/too much exfoliants), several other things. Do you feel that any of these things could be applied to you?

>> No.9900572

>>9900542
I think I might have rosacea, I know it isn't eczema. I used to have really bad acne and thought the redness was just part of it. Now I don't have as many zits/pimples but just a general redness.
I haven't been able to visit my dermatologist as I'm in between health insurance now so I've been trying to self-diagnose.

Any basic treatment tips?

Right. Post-inflammatory erythema (redness) after acne is targeted at the spots where there used to be inflammatory acne. Much more localized than what you seem to be having. Pic related.

Sunscreen that blocks both UVA and UVB (+30 SPF) is something you should get used to using, as well as avoiding most kinds of irritants to the skin. Hopefully you'll get access to laser later on.

Looking up "rosacea management" will provide you with plenty of online tips and I won't have to spoon-feed you.

I'll start researching then, cheers.
