>>15922796
my last experience taking off a patch pocket wasnt the best one, so i think ill probably give that one a miss and acquire more check shirts and warm mid-layers for the autumn coming.

you sure its advisable to buy a womans shoe, wouldnt the fit likely be different?

fair point. ill give it a think, its one more option that isnt just a plain hiking boot.

Yeah I've seen some proper butcher jobs before where you can clearly see the outline of what used to be there.

Hmm, did you mention you had wide toes? I can't say I've ever had a problem that I can recall with shoes and I have some heels. The only thing that gets me is how short the sleeves are on womens blazers etc. So much more scope and range in patterns and materials though, always a trade-off.

and yes, ive got a wide set of toes apparently. typical F fits cramp them uncomfortably, and loakes L1 line of "G" fit shoes are basically just a half size up which is disappointing. much agree on the country tho, country > town.

Yes, heels. I'm a little fruity from time to time I'm afraid to say.

well youre hardly alone in that regard, though i cant say ive ever worn heels. not gonna lie a lot of the nicer fits i see posted here from old RL mags are womens.

i think waisting is nice, and quite underrated in mens clothing. that said, i have let my waistline go to shit over the last year. need to sort that out without fucking my neck in the process. a certain level of visual comfort and warmth is also something i try to achieve. i want to seem warm and approachable in my aesthetic, and soft, warm textures that are pleasant to the hand are things i try to incorporate. though they dont fit so well anymore my favourite trousers for this are still my burgundy cords.

speaking of which, were i to incorporate those boots into my outfits worn over my cords, what colour options might i want to look out for? a lot of the red hues i imagine would not go.

No comment on the waist, I'm getting dangerously close to 40"

I'd say that's probably more to do with body language. Sure good honest materials, wool and so on, I think help but at work I seem to manage to be comforting to stressed people in a crappy white uniform so.

You could always go for a green if louder colours aren't your thing, but a scarlet red or an electric blue. Personally I'm a big fan of purples, I had a pair of aubergine moleskins I wore for years. Cordings usually has a good selection of colours, but their prices are a bit high and I've had a button fall off one of their shirts, very poor quality control on that occasion.

oof, i guess i shouldnt complain about my 32. granted, theres fuck all muscle on me but still.

body language def is a factor, but i can be a bit of a tism at times and i have a habit of coming off colder than i mean to, or harsher. i try to use clothes to both offset some of this and also as a sort of psychological framing device. im dressed to be warm, so i should act like it.

oof

personally, bright colours arent my thing. i prefer more muted colours and earth tones. the green, beige, caramel and maybe even cinnamon colours there could be workable tho. source?

somehow i have my doubts that the prices i am looking at are anything close to what manufacturers are paying. people online have a habit of sourcing items and then slapping a sizeable markup on them for the privilege of having them accessible on a super fancy squarespace designed website, or on ebay. ive lost count of the amount of £3 for a bag of 60 "brass" buttons ive seen on aliexpress being resold on ebay at £10 for 6.

Talk to your tailor and get to know which brands are reliable. It isn't something you can easily notice right away. Most overcoating fabrics at a MTM or bespoke shop are designed just for that. Loro Piana and Dormeuil for example. You can always go tweed too. That said good overcoat fabric is not reliant entirely upon lanolin content, a lot has to do with the weave itself.
in the end you should use an umbrella regardless of your coat.
