Don't even know where to begin. This Bin Laden looking pseudo designer gives me fucking cancer, man.

> Has an entire brand only relevant because of Kanye West.
> Started out by putting side zips on hoodies, sweaters & flannels (like 500 other brands at the time)
> Then came out with "his" #1 product, a bomber jacket, that was a direct rip off from Rick Owens and charges $1,000 for it.
> Whores out the bomber jacket by making it in 100 different colors.
> Also rips off Rick shorts & trousers and charges the same price

And it doesn't fucking stop there. Dude is now taking vintage rock tees, riding its aesthetic and screenprinting his cornball 'FEAR OF GOD' shit on them. Completely ruining them. And charges $500-$700.

Makes me sick to see people supporting this. I’ve been following fashion for the last 15 years and it’s undoubtedly the least respectable, unoriginal, most overpriced clothing brand I’ve ever laid eyes on.

I can’t be the only one here who sees through this travesty.

I'm with you dude. Shit started out as a Balmain rip-off with the zipper hoods.

Then he did the Vintage Rock tees. $600@RSVP

I even tweeted at them when I saw that price laughing at this complete and total shit

Usually have no problem with insta-popular brands, but this is hype on hype on hype trash.

>> No.10201183

Have you seen the ripped denim he keeps posting for his 4th collection? Lmao I died laughing when I first saw them. Looks exactly like some amateur level DIY ripped denim that you end up with after watching a how-to YouTube video on ripping jeans. And he's about to charge at least 1 grand per pair.

I mean fog shit is not original or revolutionary in the slightest (side slits, side zips, etc) but the material/ quality looks p decent and throwing riri zips on everything is kinda cool in a way... kinda. I mean if you're going in that direction that's probably the most minimalist, and even though the style of clothing is overdesigned it's not as bad/gaudy as it could be? if you know what I mean. It's a cool albeit extremely one dimensional look.

I mean if it wasn't ultra limited and resold for a ton I'd maybe buy a piece or two for retail... but then again if it wasn't ultra limited (/so heavily cosigned) I wonder if anyone would pay it any attention

but those vintage rock shirts... man those are just easy money for the dude. robbing people blind with those. from a design standpoint I'm sad, but it's genius business-wise.

>>10201774
you're from the bay? damn maybe some day I'll see you out and about with ya b/w dunks on, have yet to see another pair in person...

this brand is almost entirely responsible for the lack in quality for a huge percentage of brands that had shows for SS15.

Jerry buys vintage shirts from the rose bowl for 28$, screen prints a logo on them and sells them for 600$+

think about that. What reason is there to expel energy into choosing quality textiles and making new and creative design when the market has proven that they are willing to shill out over half a grand for an old fart and sweat stained t shirt?

FoG is setting a HORRIBLE precedent for mens fashion

Just my experience during the last fashion week in Paris. A lot of the smaller brands that previously had produced nice garments were shilling cheaper product with poor production this time around. It really felt like a LOT of the brands are just producing to produce. I am not including major house labels as they aren't even in the same echelon, but fashion week has been steadily being flooded by cheaper and more mediocre brands. I think this last one hit a turning point.

One brand I was genuinely excited for was Uma Wang. Insane quality of textile and beautiful thought out design and production.

I wouldn't blame Fear of God for the decline in quality across the industry as a whole. It's a trend that's affecting not only fashion, but everything bruh

Cheaper, crappier

I saw cudi at lolla, was NOT impressed. Been a fan for a while and I couldn't really get into it. Lots of moaning/singing rather than rapping and it wasn't loud enough imo. Idk it was alright but me and my boys ended up leaving halfway through for Carnage, being a long time cudi fan I think that says enough.

travis seemed pretty happy when he was leaving his set post-riot

effectively he is getting paid to play 3 songs and then insite a riot.

Lolla apparently paid him 60k for a full set and our after party was going to be 5k for him.

That precedent was actually set long ago by Virgil Abloh with PYREX honestly. Buying Champion brand merch, stamping PYREX on it, and selling it at a huge premium. When confronted in an interview about the lack of legitimacy he even just said "people are just mad they didn't do it first."

Now every brand is looking to imitate the low investment, gigantic premium, internet driven hype brand layout.

Shit sucks but nobody with a grain of fashion knowledge falls for it. The entire market is late teen/early 20's kids who spend all of their disposable income on single garments at a time.

Those people also happen to be the biggest users of social media because they have the most to prove, so the brand success looks disproportionately larger than it is.
