I mean I get compliments from nearly everyone at uni and they're extremely versatile. Taking off the flaps makes them look like boat shoes/mountain cut and they become more lightweight. They can go with basically any fit and are the comfiest of shoes in the 400-600$ area IMO.

I can definitely warrant the prices straight from a proxy or FIL stores, the suede on any of his shoes are amazing, sole replacement is 50 dollars or less, and you can always get them redyed naturalyl and do it yourself. The way the insole is done is bare leather and full high-pile suede. Toes and sides of the feet don't touch the sides of the shoes either, it feels like I'm walking on air and they're the driest shoe there is. I own both the Geo-Patchwork pair and a regular Lhamo pair and paying 430 for one pair and 450 for the other I can completely justify the price. I do love just about everything Kapital has to offer though.

Well maybe, you can get barely used Margielas for cheap on ebay or grailed.

To get the German ones you would have to pay import charges if you want to buy a new pair or you can pay ~$50 dollaroos from a US seller.

The Hender schemes are expensive but will last and look better with age.

If you are talking about GATs in general, I think they are classic shoes, even Adidas has a verson.

I've only been on grailed for about a month, but I constantly browse and the only margielas I can find are 300+. That's a little above my budget considering I can get 3 entire outfits from jcrew for that much and shoes only encompass ~5% of my bodily area. It all just comes down to priorities I guess? I have a pair or margielas I got for pretty cheap in a nice colourway and i got them because I wanted some GATs and they are the most comfy and will last a long time. I'm not sure if people will recognise them but that doesn't matter too much to me personally.

I do agree that the colour and fit is more important over brand names, but if you have the spare money you might as well get some higher quality items.
