the problem I have with almost all of their products, is that because of how their business model is set up, theyre constantly coming up with new products, new fabrics, new ideas. which is nice in way, but the major downside is that its not really tested, or refined. they think "hey this fabric looks cool, let try it" then they fund it, a bunch of ppl order it, and then they make it. but you have no idea how its going to age, how it will wash up, what the quality will be like. im hesistant to endorse these because, these guys know nothing about the shoe game. theyre just throwing out some basic sneaker designs hoping ppl wil buy them. at least cp's have years in the shoe business making shoes and desginging footwear and have honed their craft.

Only if you let yourself man. You might be more disappointed spending the $400, though. I say opt for the most comfortable medium you can find and buy that. They don't look like shit. Like there's literally nothing wrong with them. They just don't like when another company see's the success of Common Projects and decides to imitate for their own benefit, which in itself there is nothing wrong with. It's the most common business practice. Most COMPLETELY original ideas don't do well, or require some sort of support from already established brands, or celebrity endorsement

One's in OP are completely fine. They're 100% leather, seemed to be stitched (decently, at that), and have an overall nice look. Better than 85% of what most non-fashion conscious people wear anywhere. Be comfortable with that. You'll stress yourself out otherwise

Lol... If it was really that indicative of "shoddy" craftsmanship, I really doubt the entire team behind these shoes and photography as a whole would allow this photo to have been distributed on their official website. And you can't illustrate any "poit" by posting a shoe that isn't even the one we're talking about. The leather on the shoes in the pic related looks very soft and like they'd be comfy out the box.

Do you even know how many threads people have made about CP's being a bitch to break in and being overall uncomfortable? And unlike CP dickriders I'm not saying that to be the truth for the entirety of CP owners, but reviews ARE first hand accounts.. Also, what is it with you guys and "thick tongue'd" shoes? Margiela's have the exact same thing and it just feels like a fucking marshmallow. Like that's it. Do you want a hard-as-cardboard paper-thin tongue that cuts the front of your ankles?

Also I've already made so many posts on here about owning designer sneakers. Not once did I say designer sneakers are hype. Should I dumb down how I talk so you can understand context better? If you can't understand that EVERY brand HAS to have hype and inflation of price to do well and make any sort of profit, you are delusional. I was simply stating it as a point and using the circlejerking of CP's specifically, on this board and other fashion websites, to explain that they are not a necessity and just promote sheep-like financial decisions with a lack of forethought.

"oh, all these dudes on this site say cp's are sick because they're easily the cleanest shoe ever

So if you get a apir of high end sneakers and they're all creased up out of the box, you're cool with that?! You should be asking yourself why they couldn't find a pair that wasn't wrinkled up to photograph. Kent Wanf sneakers are relevant because they have the same type of creasing problem. At least those don't come all wrinkled up out of the box.

You're out here selling them wolf tickets. I don't believe you've handled a pair of luxury sneakers in your life. I also own Margiela GATs, and the tongue isn't really thick on those.

CPs are actually quite comfortable out of the box because of the supple interior lining. The only people complaining are the morons who size down (CPs are TTS).

Drop trip.

Once again, I never even said I liked them. I'm just trying to validate the opinion of those in this thread that do, because I don't feel like they have that much of a reason to be hated. If they are what you are looking for, there is no reason to buy them

The amount I casually spend now on single articles of clothing because all I have to pay is rent and like fuck else is ridiculous. I just don't want to be seen with CP's.

Personally when I see someone wearing an incredibly hyped piece of clothing in public that's ridiculously priced, I instantly perceive them as that much less interesting and like all of their decisions are dictated by other people. Stuff like Supreme Box logos don't even bother me, because they're reasonably priced for what they are and are generally very inoffensive. CP's just scream, I wanted a simple sneaker, I had alot to spend, I bought these. There's alot of very interesting alternatives out there at a very similar price point (and not necessarily lower, some even higher). CP's are just an easy way to get buying that part of your wardrobe out of the way.

Lol... I've posted my splatter gats, dbss, whatever the fuck else, on here numerous times. I even sold my gats on grailed. And the tongue isn't thick, no, but thicker (denser) than most other sneakers. I've even seen the (suprisingly small) collection of sneakers at Barney's New York in Seattle and was largely unimpressed. You're not paying for anything specific with those shoes, it's just something more interesting to buy for those with money. That's why normies who don't care about fashion will never understand it, even after handling them. They're not made of gold or some shit (which they will argue as well), it's just a different shoe with marginally better craftsmanship. And I don't honestly like completely crisp sneakers. I'd probably want them as clean as possible, yes, but if they're like that brand new and obviously not from being pre-owned, then that's fine. It's just the way the leather is going to wear in.

and the whole sizing down or up thing on here is a whole new issue entirely. I can spend the $100 I saved by buying some underground rap/band merch and supporting them, which I do fairly frequently.

Bro, don't talk shit about CPs before you haven't even TRIED THEM ON.

When I first came to this board around '09 I thought people were fucking nuts to buy $400 shoes.

Still thought they were nuts in '11 as well.
Well last year I had some disposible income so I decided to buy some CPs from barneys to see what the hype was all about. I can return them if I don't like them, right?
I get them in the mail.

Holy lee shit. The hype is real my friend. These things are the most well built shoe I've handled and feel great.

You can tell who hasn't tried them on or even felt the leather, because if they did they wouldn't talk shit.

yeah i guess bottom line for me is: i own a pair of gustin jeans. i also own jeans from iron heart ans samurai. are the gustin jeans even in the same ballpark as the saumrais? no. not even close. what the gustin jeans are is a entry level pair of raw denim for poor people. I'm going to assume the same is true for the sneakers. expect a nasic, entry level pair of leather sneakers that are probably of beter qualiy than stan smiths, but not even close to cp's.

actual laugh at cp fags who think their middle of the line standard sneakers are anything special. It's a classic design done with a little more quality than what you'd expect from adidas etc.

embarassing when people feel the need to dick ride a garment because they spent some money on it. Even worse if the amaount was 200 dollars for second hand shoes on grailed
