It was when I was new, and I came here back when I was wearing board shorts and Family Guy graphic tees even though I didn't even like the show.
But I quickly picked up the basics, like how to make sure clothes fit, colour theory, what matches with what, etc. The basic premise of this board I guess is to figure out what styles you like, using things found in threads to get ideas of how to put fits together, all while not looking like a clown.

Because they followed idiotic trend of not keeping fit and starving, deteriorating their bodies and not providing enough fats for testosterone to build up, hence why most of them look feminine. They don't recognize how much their "fits" would improve if their bodies would be lean(not in overly muscular /fit/ sense).

But I believe it's valid to follow some of the fashion advices here. No matter how they look, their knowledge of clothing sense mainly consists of quality production images of people who have those great fits. The problem with comparing /fa/ now to /fa/ then is of course you look at the past through rose colored glasses, but I don't think it was much better. People were quick to latch on to any meme just as much as they are now. And thinking back to the suggestions that were given makes me cringe. It truly was dadcore-centric. Chukka boots, slim dark blue jeans, button-ups with patterns, wayfarer sunglasses. That was THE look. Despite how shitty it may seem now, I think there is a decent variety of styles... maybe that is what is causing all the clashing between people. There will be people who latch on to silly trends (the monochrome movement comes to mind), there will be people who follow the years old charts and post their dadcore fits, there will be those who spend tons of money on single pieces, there will be those who want to dress well but can't afford those pieces. It's a big clash of all these things, the board is bigger than it used to be, so I just think this 'deterioration' is bound to happen.

I have lived in london my entire life and i can tell you now that it isn't all its cracked up to be in terms of the level of fashion sense. Can't say anything about pre-2013 /fa/, but between then and now, and now, it was way better. A lot of people had decent, if not great fits in the waywts. The trips weren't complete cunts and usually posted fits, with the exception of a couple. While it may have been a circlejerk, there was definitely more discussion about actual fashion. Now its basically a clusterfuck between /r9k/, /pol/, /soc/ and a sprinkle of other boards with vague relations to clothing. The trips are horrible now , usually derailing threads because of their trip persona being an asshole and not likeable.

I get where he's coming from. The 8.5 has that quirkiness about him that shows off his personality better then some of the others. Granted yes he's no super star looks, but it clearly represents him in the best way manageable.
The 9/10 (left) doesnt need a new coat as the reflective sunlight off the metal from the buttons and his gauges attract attention towards the body which is exactly what you'd want.
