tropical wool suit, unsure of the season. fits well, breathes nicely. have a tank from 2000 on the way too. really nice stuff popping up recently.

the suit is great but it has this sheen that i'm not crazy about, but i found it for a steal and will get a few wears out of it before i consider passing it on.

i was watching the 2003 a/w runway a few times today and couldn't help but pair one of the shirts with the suit.

anyone know anything about the raf "limited edition" line? from what i can tell the pieces seem to focus around designs from iconic archival pieces. some not though, like the graphic printed shirts. but yea does anyone know?

they're both size s, the black runs a but bigger than the white though. also the only difference seems to be the extra strap from the black one.

yeh idk, ive seen a few of them, im pretty sure most of them were released in japan in conjunction with certain stores for his 10th anniversary. only info ive read online has always been speculative.

most notable examples are the curriculum bomber with all the raf shows from 95 to 05 on the back, but that is really weird tbh, some of the shows are spelled/named incorrectly, pretty sure its some japanese thing released with raf approval but not raf design. the other is the suit that has raf simons name written all over it in the form of pinstripes.

mine was a turtleneck that in hindsight i might have paid a bit too much for considering what you said but we'll see once it arrives.

recently found three new order cassettes for like $10. yea i actually use the cassette deck in my car and it's cool as hell having new tapes for the summer

for aw03 raf was given access to peter saville's design archive to use for the show, the designs and graphics form the foundation of many of the pieces. it transcends any brand identification/promotion thing, its not used for recognition or shameless association, the show is dedicated in part to bands like joy division and the cultural impact of their music and the aesthetic nature of the post punk subculture.

the pieces work in unison with the graphics, they arent just a platform for a shameless, knowing 'wink' of cultural awareness like supreme shit, won't even bother discussing hba.

yeh be wary of the LE shit, its certainly not raf simons in the same way the other pieces are. i've seen the shirts you're talking about, cant really shed any light on what they are, all they do is further muddy the 'limited edition' thing.

only piece i had was the curriculum bomber, like the old 00-01 bombers its forstex garments, only its all the one size(tagged OS but the inner forstex tag is XXXL)

its really quite shit tbh, a lot of the collections arent even named, and some are named incorrectly like ss02 which is written as 'who unto those..' instead of 'woe unto those'

also, too the dude asking about LE, this piece is tagged limited edition and has definitely been made by raf, it has the patch(not a print) and the fleece inner of the rest of the aw03 sweaters.

so the tag is official but it mightve been licensed out for different events.

nah i dont have that sweater, some guy on sf offered it to me for like 600 in 2013 which seemed ridiculous at the time but its probably worth double that now.

the shirts definitely seem almost fake, from what ive seen the LE is not very common though.

i feel as though its somewhat unfortunate that the album cover features rennaiance art as it seems to contrast too strongly with punk subculture and gives the impression that the cover is just a 1:1 rip of the painting, if you dont notice the color pallette in the top right

i also think you shouldnt discount hba so readily. i agree that they have alot of 'wearing money' type clothes, but some of their more showy pieces such as the stocks, bondage pieces as well as the timberland avalance boots are very nice. i particularly like pic related
