also, from someone who is very involved in tattoo culture, don't get colour tattoos. everyone i know with colour tattoos wishes they chose the black ink route. its just classic and beautiful. it won't clash with your clothing, either.

i understand if its not your style because the majority are into very modern tattoos and thats very fine - they are on your body. get whatever you want. but bold traditional line + fairly basic design with plenty of space for the tattoo to "move" over time will look good when you are old.

i am no science student, but tattoo ink keeps its properties of a liquid and moves as it ages

I have no tattoos myself and have no reason to take one side or the other, but you sound like you're just being ignorant. Besides, the stigma of tattoos is almost gone with the growth of generation x and generation y. Some of my tatted up friends are now moms and dads, the stereotypical condemners of tattoos. The only place I'd still be worried about sporting a tattoo is East Asia.
