On some casio's like the f-91 holding the right button for around 4 seconds will bring up the word Casio on the screen, try that.

i also have an a163w with 593 in a box with square edges, which i bought off zalando, which is quite trustworthy. i have never read or heard anywhere about that squared edges equalling fake stuff, but some casio models do have rounded boxes. maybe our anon here is some kind of expert that knows that OP's specific model has to have a rounded box... who knows.

anyway, OP, just wear your watch. no one's gonna care and you'd have to reset it anyway, because digital watches aren't fully accurate anyway.
