resounding meh all around

the +J shit is just boring and low quality for what they ask

selvedge denim is middle of the row and at $89.99 you can probably do better around $120ish like gustin

the outer wear is lackluster and if anything appeals to you in the store the $150-200 is probably better spent at something that their aesthetic mimics

like their light weight down you can probably get some middle-low end actual tech wear brand like north face for arond the same price with a little better build.

it's like a store for people who don't put any effort into how they present themselves and just want to sort of buy clothing for the next 2-3 years at one place, be done with it and possibly pay a little more for an inferior product than they should have for the convenience factor of it being in a mall

The quialty of some of their clothing is very thin and sometimes doesn't feel very well manufactured. But I like it, I can go to this store and incorporate many of their articles into my attire.

What's the quality of their oxfords and other shirts like? I'd love to buy some shirts from allsaints or something but that's too expensive for me right now.

Uniqlo is great for basics, it's like top tier in that end, get tee-shirts, sweats, socks, undies. Pant's and button downs, I dunno. I'm weary of anything that's more than $30.

>> No.9860036

Funny is that the Uniqlo I go to (34th NYC) is right next to an H&M. And they contrast each other perfectly. One is a Light, bright, and colorful feel and attire. The other is dark, edgy, and play pop songs.

I like the quality of Land's End, but if you are going to buy from their regular-fit line, go a size down.

Merona is also surprisingly good for the price. I have a few of their oxfords. They are not as good as the Lands End oxfords, but some of them do approach that.

Avoid Old Navy. They look okay and are low-cost, but the collar roll is bad because the collar is very small and the material is not too good.

>> No.9860660

Basic af store but good if you're starting out trying to dress yourself better and trying to graduate out of walmart tier dickies, running shoes and a shirt thats one size too big for you.

some tips:
wntc:
please don't buy their chinos. Even for the price the construction quality and cut is garbage and I've had my zipper broken twice with minimal wear

their dry fit shirts are garbage and run huge. you might as well get department store shirts, their cheaper and are of better quality

wtc:

their supima cotton tees are still my goto basic shirt but thats only because im a poorfag. They are uncontested at their price tier. They fit and feel great for $12 ea (or 9 when they go on sale).

Airism shirts feel great.

Hoodie and longsleeve sweatershirts are meh but at are uncontested at their price tier.

I copped a 7 pairs of socks for under 10$ pack around last winter and they are all pretty nice.

I havent shopped there since like december so I don't know if anything has changed since then.

The skinny miracle air jeans or whatever the fuck are my favorite jeans by a very wide margin, and I own Levi's 510s, 511s, UB skinnies (can't remember the number), Naked and Famous Skinny Guys, APC Petite Standards, and APC New Standards.

+J on sale is def. worth it tho. Besides boring actually works really well for a professional environment, not everyone has the luxury of dressing whatever they feel like 7 days in a week.

Just a bit of a shame that they still decide to ride on that tagline despite Jil having nothing to do with recent releases + that recent disaster that was the japan blue line.

And at the very least instead of trying to emulate high fashion like some other fast fashion brands they seem comfortable doing their own thing (t shirt collabs come to mind)

Really varies. Some of it is really great, some of it is good, almost all of it is more than acceptable for the price. I picked up some more of their tees today. The merchant and mills tees are made of this really excellent fabric that reminds me of the heavy tees that hanes put out decades ago. That's what I really go to uniqlo for: really well made basics. I wish I could go to AA, but they've long since abandoned a commitment to quality. That said, uniqlo pads out their merchandise with a wide array of new products, some of which work, some that don't. For me the really stand out basics are the t shirts and the airism boxer briefs.
