I thought that the flower would be to girly but I did like what the kiku flower represented, and I think the style of them makes them look less girly if you know what I mean. That's what I was wanting to do. Overall I think he did a good job, it might look watercolor in the picture but it does look much more vibrant irl. The sad thing with irezumi, i think, is that I'd have to get it on both arms, so I can't have much varying styles, so it'll take me a while to think about. I was thinking of getting something similar to this pic but idk. I got time to think it over so, yeah it might take a while before I decide a particular style that I'm going for.

Yes, for three reasons. Firstly, unless you're fluent in a language, don't get a tattoo in that language. That's a good rule of thumb to live by. Secondly, if something has been co-opted by neo-Nazis, don't get it tattoo'ed on you. No one is going to listen to you when you say that your whatever pre-dates the rise of the Nazi party and has been a part of German culture blah blah blah. Get one like that, but with urban landscape with buildings, telephone poles or something along those lines instead.
Unless you actually live in the country and somewhere with forests like that it will look kinda hipstery tacky in the same way deer heads, antlers etc. tattoos do.
