Hey bros, has anybody here had their teeth whitened before?

I'm 25, drink green tea all day everyday while also only brushing once a day (mornings)

Thinking about having my teeth whitened. I mean, it's just polishing bone, it's not like I'm dying my hair or getting a tattoo or anything.

Would you do it? I'm thinking why not for me.

My dentist friend gave me professional grade whitening strips for free. No this isn't the crest whitening bullshit. These thinks worked. Only did a week's worth of them but they definitely whitened enough for me.

its not as effective as you think

stop drinking sugary shit, start drinking water

soda is even worse because the carbonation fucks with how your body takes in calcium

water will be 1000x more effective + many other benefits

from someone who had their teeth whitened

that's bullshit about carbonation, but you're right about not drinking sugary drinks, obviously.

OP:
get into the habit of brushing at night.

eventually you wont want to sleep before your mouth is clean; lying down and trying to get to sleep when you can feel plaque on your teeth and that thin sort of layer of 'slime' that you notice is gone once you've brushed and gargled will get you nowhere, after a while, and more regular brushing will become part of a healthy routine.

Good dental hygiene will also prolong the whiteness of any treatment you might decide to get later.

you can mix Hydrogen peroxide with baking soda into a paste and put that on your teeth: H2O2 is used in many dental bleaching products and it's effective. use a concentration of around 20% H2O2 by volume and try not to get too much of the past on your lips and gums. a paste is good because it stops the H2O2 from getting on your tongue, cheeks, etc.
this is a really cheap and effective method you can try before committing to potentially more expensive options.

chew gum.

I used to get mine done once a month because my insurance covered it

Felt pretty nice

Only brushing once a day. Third world confirmed

yup to all of this.
Brushing at night is the most important time, since you're not actively rinsing your mouth with saliva...
I swish around hydrogen peroxide every few days for 2 and a half minutes.

Eating carrots and high fiber vegetables is also really good, as not only is it healthy, but chewing them actually cleans your teeth.
