Rinse conditioner out with cold water. As cold as you can stand it. Then, don't towel dry. Let it air dry. It works for me, at least.

My shampoo day routine was this (it's not daily because I don't shampoo everyday):

>minimal shampoo
>rinse
>generous amount of conditioner
>do other shower stuff while conditioner sits in hair
>rinse conditioner out of hair with very cold water
>get excess water out of hair with hands
>put Shea Moisture curl enhancing smoothie in hair (it's for black people but it works for me)
>air dry
>takes fucking forever (like 3 hours) to dry so I hope you showered really early
>it dries as if you put gel in it
>hard and still looks wet but it's really easy to break up

I have really dry hair so everything I do is to counteract that. If your hair isn't dry as fuck naturally, then I wouldn't recommend the Shea Moisture stuff.

There's also a picture of my HY that gets posted pretty often. Same routine, but add Johnathan Dirt after last step.
