I bought a pair of bikers for $42 and then found an even cheaper store that had them for $31. I bought a pair from both stores and they are exactly the same and come from the same factory. Now Union House has these same pants for $50 - $60 which is almost double.

There are huge numbers of brands out there, many of them putting out great stuff and not charging for a ridiculous brand mark up because they aren't at the point where they can. Why buy fakes and support God knows who when you can just spend a bit more time and find something that's actually unique because it's coming from a smaller label? Not only will you be supporting someone who probably actually deserves the money, but you'll get the added bonus of being ahead of the curve or having something that's genuinely special outside of the fact that Supreme (or whoever) decided to only release X units of that super hyped garment.

got some island dunks but they dont do the cracked leather/waxed suede version as reps so I decided to do it myself.

the reason that buying fakes is awful is not because of any sort of brand name integrity. it's just the actual quality of the clothing. and you're right, you'll never replicate that.
