I literally asked for a HY with slightly tapered sides, with the hair on top long enough to be "pushed back" and got this. I didn't even go to a shitty cheap barber but a real hair salon.

does anyone have an example of what an out-grown undercut looks like which started with a pretty long top? I was growing my hair out but then I made a mistake to buzz the sides a few months back and keep the top long. I'm thinking about getting my hair cut short but I've never had a short hair cut before in my life. I've always had a scar on the side of my head (see pic) that I used to be sort of self conscious about, but now I don't really care about it.

I've got a similar face to yours. Your beard looks really patchy, and it being very light in color doesn't help. Mine is the same, but I have more growth. Do you purposely trim it? If so, stop and see if it grows. If it doesn't, seriously think about shaving.
And yes, cut your hair. You might think you're losing the world here, but I had long hair too and I don't want to remember those dark times. Your hair looks wavy and dry, so you're going to want to buy some hair styling product and learn how to use it.

Sorry for the gay picture but I've seen similar hairstyles to this a lot lately. I was wondering if the layers in your hair are naturally that way or if it's cut/styled that way? I noticed the hair is semi long but every individual layer is short.

I wanted to get a similar style of hair to gel it up because it seems like every time I get a haircut it's really long on top and the bottom so when I gel it up it looks like I have a giant mohawk that get taller the closer it gets to the back of my head and it sucks.

Would it cost a lot for a similar haircut or is it a basic style? What should I ask for?
