Yeah I've done it a lot on wallets,shoes, etc...

It's extremely easy but you just have to be careful not to get any on spots where you dont want it because the dye is very strong. You just brush it on and let it soak in, do a couple of coats, wait a couple of hours and go over it with a moist towel to wipe off excess dye.

Fiebings Leather Dye is the best I've used.
