I'm actually impressed by /fa/'s approval of this type of fashion. I was coming into this expecting a massing flamewar.

I generally go for prepstyle look with a bit of ruggedness. I used to be dress like a superfrat tryhard when I was a pledge and a new initiate, but now that I'm older and in graduate school I still can dress well, and effectively. While not looking like a tryhard easter egg.

Here in the south if you aren’t rocking Polo or Vines you might as well get out. Here in my top tier fraternity, in the south, we are usually found wearing the classics that have been established in our old money families for years. I was born (on our plantation) wearing an oxford Polo button down, a navy with gold buttons Brooks Brothers blazer, a pair of J. Crew khakis and a Vineyard Vines seersucker bow tie. I grew up wearing Costa Del Mars (in the 580 glass lens, of course) and Southern Tide croakies to complement my southern yachting/fishing lifestyle, and you bet that there were at least three Yeti coolers in the 60′ yacht at all times. When I go to formal with a slam (or two) I will be rocking a full seersucker suit with matching seersucker bow tie, with a flask (or two) of Makers Mark in my jacket. ...When I fly (on my private plane, of course) into Augusta to play 18 (yeah my dad is a member) I will be rocking a Polo/Masters logo visor, Polo/Southern Tide/Vineyard Vines polo shirt, 6″ Polo shorts with embroidered golf balls, and a Vineyards Vines belt with a golfing motif, of course I also play in my Cole Haans (frat cleats) because they essentially have spikes on them anyways. While I usually end up shooting around 130, it still frat because I usually get super drunk (on Nattys) and snapchat a photo of me at the course to all my fros (frat bros).

In regards to belts, only buy them from Vineyard Vines, and make sure the pattern on them is really fratty, pastels are always good. Needlepoint belts are also super fr@, but make sure you force your slam to make one for you, as buying one is NF. Make sure to pick up a few pairs of Rowdy Gentlemen/Southern _____ swim trunks, and get them hemmed (by your private tailor, of course) to a FaF 4″ inseam. Yeah, it essentially boils down to that if you aren’t wearing Polo and VV you are NF and not cool. On another note, the biggest frat stars (including me) in my top tier fraternity (in the south) can usually put down around a case (24 brews) in an hour. While I don’t usually just go out and drink a full case, I do spend the night shotgunning the occasional Natty and drinking a handle of Makers until I blackout. If you want to get a bid to a top tier, you should my advice not with a grain of salt, but with line of coke as I am a veteran frat star and am accustomed to the frafestyle (frat lifestyle).
