I got some samples in today

>Bleu de Chanel

Shit is good, smells alot like YSL L'homme Libre, but this has more citrus

>D&G Light Blue Pour Homme

It's very nice, it's a more peppery version of D&G Pour Homme, I like D&G Pour Homme more.

>YSL La Nuit De L'homme

I don't get the hype, the hyped drydown smells nice, a vanilla cookie dough vibe. It's alright

>L'homme Libre

Smells very good, but not new, it smells like something my dad was already wearing 15 years ago. Still it is very good, hard to describe scent.

>He Wood

I totally get the hype, this shit is GOOD. I had no idea what I was supposed to envision with a woody fragrance, this shit is good. Smells green and fresh, doesn't smell like weed at all. One of my faves thus far

>Fahrenheit

This is strong, and old, not really for me. I kind of panicked when I smelled it. I'm still going to give it more wears because there is definetly something nice about it.

>212 Men

This is probably one of the safest scents ever. Smells fresh, citrusy, a little bit aquatic and green, and a little bit like skin creme. I actually like it but it's not unique and the price is high for what it has to offer.

>212 Men VIP

Almost smells like 1 Million, if someone would smell this on you they would definetly mistake it for 1 Million. It smells better than One Million though, it has a booze/passionfruit vibe. In my opinion if they made the passionfruit more clear and toned the booze down a bit it would be better. Still a good frag.

He Wood, Light Blue, L'homme Libre, Bleu de Chanel, 212 VIP and 212 Men are worth a buy in my opinion.

I recently started getting interested in perfumes. I need a good one for business as soon as possible. I work in a creative field (still corporate culture, no hipstershit) and have direct client contact, pretty much all the time.

I'm still using college-tier perfumes and need to up my game a bit. I ordered some samples of perfume that seemed interesting, like Invasion Barbare (too girly).

Any good ideas?

Age 24, look like a crack addict, but with better groomed hair. Business casual is the dress code around here. Suit, only rarely with tie.

I ordered a sample of D&G Pour Homme based on your post, because I really like Light Blue and was gonna pick it up, but kinda wanna try some other things.

In my personal opinion, Libre is excellent. I get a hint of sweetness and aroma from the sample of it I picked up, but I've read a lot of people don't like it because they think it smells synthetic, and a few people I ran into didn't care for it. Bummer

>>9609834
Trust me m8, just go to Sephora. My JCPenny's has one in it so i had a fair amount of stuff.

YSL L'Homme is a versatile scent and can work in a mature setting, so you might want to try it if it is your absolute first scent and want something that won't offend.

Like he said, go to a store where you can smell them.

YSL L'homme is a good recommendation, Hugo Boss is pretty safe and standard but smells kind of ''dusty'' in comparison with YSL L'homme.

Bleu de Chanel you should also definetly give a smell, the smell has a very rich feel to it. Not money wise but ingredient wise, it just smells very deep and would do fine in the environment you describe.

As long as you don't come in to work with a in-your-face club frag I think you'd be fine though. Just go and experiment, the rabbit hole goes deep.

kekked. I liked Issey Miyake when I smelled it looking for fragrances the first time, but when I smelled it when looking for a summer fragrance, it smelled a lot bitterer than the first time. It might smell nice on your skin, and it is universally liked by a lot of people, but just see how it smells on you. I think the sport version might be nicer if I recall.

>>9611234
Sephora or Nordstrom are your best bets, since they give free samples and you don't have to talk to the pressuring salespeople.

>but those are pleb stores
The thing is, you won't really find a lot of the nicer niche fragrances in store and readily sampled. You have to go to higher brick and mortar stores to find them in person. The other thing is that I think everyone should have one or two basic fragrances per weather cycle. (warm/hot and cold weathers) Something that is universally liked and pleasant so you don't have to mess with anything else.

If you want to experiment with niche stuff, you have to normally buy from online. There is a good shop online for samples that was posted, but I can't remember what. Might be up in the thread somewhere.

I hope this is an okay thread to ask this. I dont trust fuccboi general thag much.

Im concerned I smell bad. I wear lightly scented woman's roll on deodorant as I have sensitive skin. I have noone I can ask to confirm this. I notice I seem to sweat a bit when walking to college (up a hill) even if its cold. There are other instances, for example I was waiting for a friend today outside a store and noticed I was sweating then, but stopped when she came out. Im too anxious to ask her.
The main reason for my concern, apart from the sweat, is that it is slightly noticable at the pits as I remove the shirt. I also notice people seem to avoid sitting next to me on the train, maybe Im just reading too much into that.
I can identify when other people smell bad, and feel repulsed. I have good personal hygiene.

Is there a way I can test this more throughourly without having to ask someone? Better yet, is there a fix?
I dont wear any fragrance, kind of because its something Ive never done, but if I wanted to start I dont really want to exude a smoothie of good and bad smells.

Nope. That's babbys first niche frag. You also managed to buy the substance that's only one molecule, at an extremely high price.

Don't trip unless you have something to contribute.

>>9614541
Use more. Spray on clothes. Get an other perfume that is not an EdT, and that has ingredients that contribute to a more active sillage. See fragrantica for sillage/longevity ratings.

Anyone ever try Uomo by Eremenegildo Zenga? I'm looking for a good all-rounder to add to my spring rotation. From what I understand it isn't anything super unique, but for what it is, it's really nice. Thinking about it, Lalique White and L'Eau Bleue D'Issey. That said, all three are pretty cheap so I might just cop them all

>> No.9616480

Good choice although I probably would have went with the original L'Homme especially with the spring/summer coming up. La Nuit is pretty much only good for the nighttime colder months. It's also a pretty sensual scent, not really the most versatile. That said, its one that I think everyone should have in their collection.

I got a whole bunch of samples about 3 weeks ago. I loved A*men by Thierry the best. I did get few compliments on it, but only from friends so I don't really trust that. What I loved most was I applied it in the afternoon and could still get whiffs of it at 3 am. What does /fa/ think?

10-12 uses from a 1mL, it's very strong and projects well. Looks like some people find the opening too strong, which is why I am reluctant. I might still buy it just for my self. I love the smell, but at the same time I don't want to offend others. Maybe not the best for a hot day.

A*Men is a classic, definitely in the upper echelon of designer releases. Longevity and sillage are beastly, so no surprise your were still smelling it after that much time had passed. As you probably know there are a ton of flankers for A*Men, most of them aren't worth shit but if you loved A*Men that much I would highly suggest checking out Pure Malt and Pure Havane. They both retain that A*Men dna but Pure Malt adds a boozy whiskey note which is gorgeous while Havane adds tobacco and honey which is equally as good

light blue is not bad at all, but kinda meh, not really distintictive and pretty weak, the name is spot on with this one i think

i'm thinking about more like 2 weeks, but it depends on the usage
with my usage which is 3 sprays per day (sometimes i don't use it at all, sometimes i use more, so it's an average), it should last 2 weeks at least
but it seems he doesn't even use that much, so he can go far with 2 ml, even a month or more, however that fortnight thing was an exaggeration i believe

lately i only order 5 ml samples, because i'm getting tired of scents too fast and i already have multiple 100 ml bottles which i used only couple of times, at first i liked them very much, but slowly i started to hate them and most probably i will never use them again

Not sure I would call Burberry Brit that floral either. I mean I wore it this past winter, and I didn't get the cool feeling I Would imagine from a floral scent. Try Dior Homme

Fahrenheit has violet as a central note.
Brit have rose, as does Issey.
Dior Homme has iris.

None of the above are straight-up floral floral, they all have other stuff going on. I'd even say Dior Homme is the least floral in that list, but that's just like my opinion.

> Brit Summer
Good choice, you'll like it. It's better than mainline Brit. I actually only have the summer one, and I probably let that influence my memory of Brit too much. So maybe I'm recalling more rose than I should.

Yeah, I went and I totally get where the rose comes from, but on me it is a lot more of a light spice I would say.

Pretty excited for Brit summer, since I've heard good things about it. All the samples I ordered should be here tomorrow. Only thing I wish I would have been able to sample was CDG Play Green, since I heard some nice things about it. But decantshop didn't have it, and it was the only one that had everything else I wanted to try so eh.

Will give a short review of everything tomorrow and as I sample it all.

Since my sampler site did have some, I'll give you my hot take on it.

It's a really fresh, non-perfumey, minty green. The mint is balanced and calm. I usually don't like mint scents but this is fine.

You could wear it in peak summer heat and still be ok. Also it has none to the common CDG shenanigans of mixing in some gunpowder or tar or something. It's simple and smells good without making any loud proclamation.

Don't blind buy, well you could probably blind buy this, but don't blind buy.

Obviously avoid body spray. The only time its acceptable if you're underaged b& or living at home and need to mask the scent of weed/tobacco or if you work out and need to smell decent for a couple hours

Otherwise your best bet is to start with something entry level and avoid things like Hollister cologne or something you can't find any talk about online. Hi /fa/,

I bought some samples in order to find out what kind of fragrance I want to buy and wear. I've written down my experiences to help myself decide and I want to share these with you. I did some research on basenotes and selected a couple of fragrances based on reviews and fragrance notes. This is my first attempt at fragrances so don't expect really in-depth reviews.

L'Eau D'Issey pour Homme
It smells kind of nice, but it's not for me. Smells strongly like citrus. I can totally imagine this fragrance will fit on people on islands in warm climates. Longevity: Good. 6.0/10

Azzaro Pour Homme
It smells rather strong when I first put it on and I didn't immediately like it. It really grew on me during the day though. It has a very strong presence. I find it hard to pin down what it smells like exactly, it is a bit more on the sour side. Longevity: Very good. 7.5/10

Dior Homme Intense
When you spray it on it smells like a bale of hay you puked on the night before. Thankfully, this passes in minutes. Smells a lot like chocolate and vanilla overall. After an hour or so more flowery tones come in and it is this smell I really like. A few hours later I can only smell the vanilla. I like the middle tones a lot but I'm not so sure about the rest. Longevity: Average. 7.0/10

YSL La Nuit de L'Homme
Very, very sweet. I can't stop sniffing my wrists. Smells like being in a warm bath with your girl and you're both eating cotton candy. The smell gets a bit more masculine and subtle after an hour (or two). I love this one a lot. Longevity: Good. 8/10

1/2

>> No.9633382

>>9633379

2/2

Versace The Dreamer
Not bad, not good. It smells like flowers, but more synthetic. Compared to the others, it doesn't smell complete or full. Longevity: Average. 6.5/10

Terre d' Hermès
Spicy, sour and heavy. This is probably what James Bond villains smell like. After a few hours it becomes less crude and generally nicer. Longevity: Good. 7/10

Penhaligon's Sartorial
I love British heritage (branding) so I had to try this one. It promises barbershoplike smells and it does succeed in that. Other than that, it's not as special as I had hoped. Longevity: Below Average. 6.0/10

Lanvin L' Homme
At the start a bit like the Issey Miyaki above (citrussy) but not as in your face. It smells pleasant and clean but it's not as strong or long-lasting as most of the others and that's a shame. Longevity: Below Average. 6.5/10

tl/dr; Top 3:
1. YSL La Nuit
2. Azzaro Pour Homme
3. Dior Homme Intense/Terre d' Hermès

Really? The first time I smelled Aventus, I thought of bugspray in an ashtray. For some reason my perception of it changed months later, and now when I smell it, it seems lightly fruity with smokey wood, which is fine, but I wouldn't guess that it gets as many compliments as people say it does.
