What is the most /fa/ language? It would most likely be an old unused language like Latin. I would have to say German though.

English is the most effay. It's sourced all over the place, it's in the hands of the people but directed by an elite, it's the de facto across the world, and it incorporates anything good that it manages to grab and sells it on to everyone else. It also has the smoothness of French without being a nasal nightmare and the deciveness of German without sounding harsh. English aesthetics are A+.

Swede here.

I'd say it's because you live fairly isolated, on an island, with a really cool landscape. There's volcanoes, geothermal energy, hot springs, glaciers, deserts, aurora, stuff.

You speak a version of Old Norse, which sounds very foreign and old to all of us other Nordic citizens.

Your population is very small and fairly ethnically homogeneous, and you've even preserve your name culture. About 1 in 10 will publish a book during their lifetime, so that's one of the indications of your prominent culture. There's of course also Björk, Sigur Rós, and Múm.

I also find the inuit-scandi genetic blend to be rather successful when it comes to attractiveness.

I speak English, Macedonian, Dutch, French and German myself, though the latter two are not as good as the first three but I'm still working on them. I'm on B2 level at the moment.

Are you seriously depressed, in the sense that you focus too much on the negative stuff?

It only seemed to me like you had some kind of genetic influence from Greenland or whatever. Or maybe it's just due to inbreeding because of isolation + small pop.

Eh. If you're looking at the big three contributors to modern English you're only partially right.
If you're going for a legal or academic discourse you'll find a lot of Latinate and French origin terms. Also the words that will make you look pretentious in everyday speech have those roots too.

Everyday, informal speech and functional words are almost overwhelmingly Old English (so Germanic) in origin.
