Be thorough and specific when describing what you want done. Otherwise, you can't really blame them for giving you something other than exactly what you wanted. best thing to do is always take a picture with you of the style you want and thoroughly describe what you want. if you feel like a wanker just imagine how much worse it feels getting a shitty haircut.

if you do all this (picture, description, etc) and you still dont get what you want dont feel obliged to pay them. fuck shitty hairdressers who think they know better than you what you want

Brah that's why you go to decent barber and if you like how he cuts stick with him. Going to different places everytime you get a haircut is like playing Russian roulette with your hair. I've finally found a good barber to go to and my haircuts have been looking great.

Hey Opie, here's an idea.

>buy your own set of hair clippers
>buzz off all your hair
>work on your hair every week/other week
>learn to maneuver the clippers better using your own hair as a slate
>anytime you fuck up just buzz it to the best length

Military high and tight is a really neutral hairstyle that plebs don't give a flying shit about while you're growing the top. Do that until your hair's long enough to do whatever you want with it, and you'll have saved a fuckload of money doing it yourself instead of giving it to the shitheads that pass as barbers/hairstylists at cheap places.

When it's long enough that you need to maintain it, buy a pair of scissors and do it yourself.
