Repost from another thread.

Wealthcore is anything that in any way possible states that the person wearing said garments is wealthy.

It can be loud with many brands (this is generally considered poor taste and bad wealthcore) or it can be high quality but muted clothes with one logo at the very most. If you see someone and instinctively think that they are well off, you were probably influenced by their dress- this is wealthcore.

It isn't confined to any sub-style either, wealthcore fits can be streetwear, prep, #menswear, ect. It includes all from high end pajamas to bespoke tuxedos.

The fit has to make sense too; meaning that wearing a rolex and full h&m isn't wealthcore as people would likely think that the watch is a fake.

In closing, use your own judgment to decide if it is /wealthcore/ or not.

I'm not wealth core because I grew up in a small market city.

Also my parents were very against intense spending (they're considered 1% but as a small business, there's a lot of corners the government gouges them with). Some of that philosophy has rubbed off on me.

So most of my major expenses are more calculated.

In a way I would have liked to be in a real 1% for like a month just so I can buy multi thousand dollar outfits on the daily while driving some fast car with a model or something, but
That's just not how it happened.

I'll never hate on anyone that could do that though.

>>9499071

You think this is wealthcore? It looks like you're trying hard to dress like a runway model, except none of the clothes fit you and your posture is trash. Just because you're a hype beast willing to spend way too much money on off the rack hyped brands with shit clothes doesn't mean it's wealth core faggot.

Wealthcore is by definition, and first and foremost, all about high quality fabrics. Scratch that, the highest quality fabrics. Secondly it's about image, and this is where streetwear scores 0/10 even if it's made of the best fabrics on earth, which means street wear can never be wealth core.

Might as well throw in shirt and pants tbh, they look low quality. The zipper on the jacket looks plastic too. Ugly. The shirt collar looks bad too.

Maybe he's dropped a lot of money on that, but the fabrics look cheap and it's a horrible and unprofessional fit that gives of a horrendous image as far from wealthcore as it gets. The belt is the only thing here that looks like maybe good quality, but it isn't fashionable at all with the rest of the fit. Like walking around with a rolex in a tracksuit.

Wealthcore is not spending a lot of money, it is not branding. Spending alot of money is simply a consequence of wealth core. This picture is someone spending a lot of money with complete disregard of quality.

so, is wealthcore typically 'effay'? It's definitely expensive, but I mean the typical definition of 'effay'.

Also, I have an office job, so now I can't really wear /fa clothes, I tend to wear 80's prep clothing(it goes with the car im about to buy too, a 944s) so light coloured trousers, Ralph Lauren shirts, APC, Lacoste polo's. Although, im 18 so I do still live with my parents, so I can't help feeling quite try hard with this. Even though I'm paying less for this style than I did when I wore all Saint Laurent, some of it is even cheaper than Acne, I felt more comfortable wearing that than I do wearing prep/wealthcore (despite being cheaper) because it feels like I'm trying to be 'wealthy', which, while I have a lot of disposable income, and never in my life have I ever struggled for anything, my family don't drive sports cars or anything.

I just wear the rolex my dad gave me when I'm trying to impress people

I was at the BMW dealership getting my car worked on (recall), and was taking a look at the showroom. A salesman started chatting with me, asking if I was interested in anything. He does the typical probing to find out if I can afford it - asking job, etc. Granted I do make reasonably good money (70k, I'm 25 and don't have a degree) and have an attractive job title (director of technology), but the guy looks at my watch and says, "hey, we have the same watch - good choice!" A few minutes later, he offered to let me test drive a new M4 and waived the credit application they usually require.

It's weird how people size you up when you walk in with luxury goods on. I was at a Tiffany store about a month ago with my girlfriend to get one of her silver rings cleaned, just some $500 piece that I bought her years ago. Got talking to the clerk, and I see her eye the watch. Five minutes later we're in a private room, the manager is showing us 100k+ rings and offering us champagne. I remember her remarking to us something like, "We get a lot of people who can't afford things coming in here, so we just have to use precaution with who we show these goods to today. We don't want to waste our time or theirs."

This is just stuff that has happened in the last couple months. The latter gave me a taste of what the 1% must feel like. It was kind of disgusting...but also excellent.

idc if you're trolling, you have a really shitty attitude and you seem like you'd be an insufferable faggot irl

I used to live overseas and went to international schools where there was a pretty big mix of different backgrounds - you had the "middle class" foreign kids who were only able to attend because their parents' company was paying (myself included), then there were the local kids whose parents owned stuff like a resort or a huge restaurant chains (actual examples of ppl I know and still talk to)

had friends who had rolls royces, invited us to birthday parties on yachts with jet skis etc. and we still bought the cheapest thing on the menu when we went to kfc

i don't know where you live/who you hang out with, but the rich people I know don't really look down on people or have your elitist attitude...

my godparents live in a $10m home, own a shipping business and my family is really good friends with them even though we probably aren't a tenth as rich

to be honest, a person's worth is determined by their character, not their bank account

If you think otherwise, I think you're just trying to make up excuses for why people don't like you, and you should just focus on improving yourself instead

Sry for the rant, but this board gets on my nerves sometimes

You are right on the spot m8. ;-)
I'm 32 and I own my own lawfirm, co-funded with a couple of other lawyers. Right now I'm mostly working civil and human rights affairs, but until last year I worked as director of an oil company local division and before that I was an auxiliar of the general prosecutor. I'm a field jumper, actually. ;-)

This. I'd call myself lower middle class but I have friends from working to upper middle and even one or two upper class acquaintances (UK based, btw).

Common people are often intimidated by my accent (standard English) but I can get along with anyone after a short chat. It's the people who've either come into wealth fairly recently or who have poor character that act with snobbery and impudence. No one I know whose family has had money for generations treats their employees (valets, nannies, cleaners, gardeners etc) with anything less than respect and gratitude. It's the dicks who don't appreciate that in order to run their estate, they RELY on these people and end up treating them like shit. They treat people whom they deem to be poorer and therefore less human than themselves, in a similar fashion. It disgusts me.

Imo, the wealthcore is an attitude as well as the clothes you wear, however the same attributes apply to each:

Be humble, retain high quality, be well coordinated and it must all happen seemingly effortlessly.

You can spot someone who is merely rich as opposed to wealthy a mile off.

Also, I once worked for a piano shop. Some of the houses I worked in were worth tens of millions of pounds and it was some of those that had occupants with the most APALLING taste.

Fake watch.
The pearl is too flat.
The bezel teeth aren't sharp enough.
The gap between endlink and case lugs is too wide, genuine Rolexes are made with better QC aka better machining tolerances..
The endlink midlinks' edges aren't sharp enough. Genuine Rolex endlinks have very sharp "drop-offs" from the midlinks to the sides of the endlink.

idgaf that it's probably the trashiest car there is, it's a lot of fun to drive around and I didn't want to ask my parents for a ludicrously expensive car when I was 16.

Tbh I know plenty of other very wealthy people my age (currently 21 year old uni student) and what determines how people treat you is more your demeanor than how you dress. If you walk into a store with confidence and give the "right" answers to questions, you will be given preferential treatment in sweatpants to the guy wearing an expensive outfit. People in luxury goods stores are trained to recognize who is actually wealthy and who just has poor financial management skills.

HAHAHA
There might be several supercopies out there of Rolexes and Cartiers and shit like that but I doubt there is even one believable replica of a real high-end watch like the beautiful Chrononetré Bleu, the one of very few double sided functional Reversos, or a 36,000 v/h 10th of a second flyback chronograph. These are complications or finishing grades that simply can't be achived on the cheap side, like with fakes.
And the cherry on the cake is that you ask for authenticity papers, the one thing that can be easily replicated in a Kinko's.
I don't care what you asume buddy.

Luxury brands depend on reputation and perceived status. If there are people with middling jobs going broke pawning off a luxury brand's goods, their status decreases and so does their value.

Businesses, at least good ones, think in the long-run. Nobody is going to pay $500,000 for a Bentley if you can find them for $50,000 regularly in used car lots. It's better for the brand to avoid people who unsustainably spend money.

>the rich people I know don't really look down on people or have your elitist attitude
Their money and elite education puts them over most people. They know it and the people who deal with them know it. They don't feel the need to be outwardly condescending unlike the new rich.

>to be honest, a person's worth is determined by their character, not their bank account
This sort of what I'm talking about. You probably define "character" in a way that make others nonthreatening to your interests. Also, You and your friends have money/connections and will never be in desperate straits, so you can pretend money doesn't matter.

>It's weird how people size you up when you walk in with luxury goods on.

CSB: Was in the market for formalwear. Purchasing not renting. Dude I bought from thought I was renting (b/c I came in street clothes, non-effay jeans, non-designer collared button-down shirt).

I should have made it clear from the outset I was buying and not renting - but what clinched the sale decision for me was when I realized he was spending as much time decking me out in different previously-unworn rental gear as he did after he realized I was there to buy. We'd already figured out my body type and most of what would work, so basically the only difference in service at that point was having the tailor come out for marking some alterations.

What I think clued him in that I was looking to buy instead of rent was when I started poking at the untailored jackets and examining the fabric. When someone like me, who's a relative n00b to this, can feel the difference in quality, it stands to reason that anyone who's wealthy has already experienced it and knows what to look for.

>>9520973
I'm hardly a 1%er, can't even dream of RL Purple Label, went with Black on the suit and Polo on the tux. But I am somewhat of a fat fuck, and your question - wat do when the good looking stuff is slim cut - was what got me to a professional's boutique in the first place. Designers make clothes in wide ranges of styles, and at least suit-wise you can hardly go wrong with something traditional like, say, the Madison fit from Brooks Brothers.

tl;dr: at the high end, sometimes the proprietor cares less about your money and more about your interest in learning what looks good on you. Demonstrate interest and a modicum of clue and you'll gain experience.

Not to go full /o/ on you, 0000non, but a daily-driver-condition E-type can be had for about the $30-50K price of an entry-level new sedan or SUV and most won't be able to tell the difference between it and a $100K fully restored example. This won't work for people who have no cash but who have the income to afford the monthly payments on the SUV. But it can work if you have enough cash to buy the new car outright. The SUV will probably out-accelerate it these days, but it will be way less fun.
