I've got a simple digital Casio, same face as pictured. Has anyone gone about replacing the band on it? I'd like to swap it out for a cheap brown leather one, more or less as pictured. It's silly but I'm quite keen on it. Should I just get a band and take the watch and it to a jeweler? Or is it particularly difficult to do on one's own. Thanks

It's easy, I'm wearing the same thing right now. Just get a needle and poke the metal pin holding the band onto each side of the watch face out. Then align the leather strap in each side and slide the pin back in so it holds the new strap in place.

I don't like the Kinetic movement since it defines compromise. It has boring quartz electronics combined with the hassle of recharging like an automatic, with none of the strengths of each. You can't even use a watch winder since the oscillating weight in a Kinetic is heavier than a typical automatic.

That said, there are some very good looking watches in the Kinetic line. I have the one in the pic.

Currently there are only two mechanical watches I'd pick up without seconds hands; a Hamilton Intra-matic and a Defakto Akkord, pictured. I'd still prefer then to have a seconds hand, but it's not a complete deal breaker with these two.
