I already mentioned pretty clearly that even the bulkiest of boots aren't larger than the knee region. the purpose of a straightleg that fits over your knees as it maintains the same circumference down to your ankles will -ALWAYS- fit over a bulky boot.

I prefer boot cut jeans with my fryes because the top of the boot is quite wide and it fits the sort of toned down 70s look of them. But I agree that if you wear lace up boots, straight leg jeans look better.

Not gonna lie, every now and then I'll try on a slimmed down bootcut for kicks and with the right boot, it's a wonderfully powerful, elongating silhouette. It's hard to do right and make it modern, but I've been tempted many times. The most compelling ones that best suit what I normally wear would be something like the older twisted Julius ones that actually wrap slightly around the boot shaft to make the effect even more fluid.
