the canvas strap on the Seiko 5 watches (I own the SNK805 for example as well), the Pulsar watches and the Lorus ones all have the same quality. the thickness of the strap just varies based on the particular model.

either way, you could simply get a nato strap if you just want a different color or for other reasons.

btw just found out that there actually is a full lume dial version of the Seiko 5 (SNK811K1) and I even saw a red dial version which weirdly enough comes with a blue canvas strap. I think they sell these only in Japan these days but I'm not sure.

the full lume dial watches by pulsar and lorus are still a better choice functionality-wise though since they are not only cheaper but have way better water resistance, are quartz so they have more accuracy and are not as chunky.

it's called the "watchmaker's four". pretty much every watch with roman numerals have IIII instead of IV. it's for aesthetical reasons to keep the symmetrical balance of the dial since VIII right across of IIII looks too "heavy" otherwise

Battery usually lasts about 3 years in them. Batteries are normally trivial to replace but I've heard that there are two pins that you have to short with a screwdriver to reset the calendar on this one. Should be easy enough, but I didn't own it long enough to try it for myself.
