What I usually do is when I've come out of the shower, after having shampood and conditioned (though don't do it too often natural oil is good) kinda rubbed it all over with a towel and then blowdried on a medium high heat constantly moving the dryer and my hair, just making sure it gets all of it dry. I've had that kind of cut work pretty well without product (by product I meant styling product, but I suppose you did as well), because the weight of the hair helps it stay down (you can see it isn't lifted up or anything, which I would agree couldn't be done unless I use product).

The style is sort of "built into" the cut, it's not just something you have to shape a certain way with product necessarily (like someone who wants a faux hawk would have, wouldn't look right unless styled).

You're right though this is pretty messy, and not the most versatile bunch of hair to work with but that's really what works best for me.

I desperately need to do something different with my hair. I've just been doing a side part for the past few months but have come to realize it isn't doing any favors for my face at all. My hair has also grown considerably and has made it hard to do a side part so I'm thinking of continuing to grow it and do something else. My hair is so straight it's human. Do you guys have any ideas of what I should do with my hair that won't make my forehead look so horrible? I can't get pictures now but I will later.

Tips on a haircut with long head from the side (horizontally). My face is a bit long as well I guess. My hair reaches my eyes now and I do a poor job trying to slick it back. Whenever i get a cut my head seems even bigger.
