Guys will come in with there girlfriends and give me a print out with a fucking tumblr link at the bottom, and I'll say, "I don't do other peoples work. No good artist will, I'll draw something inspired from it though if you really like the design. What does it mean to you?"

And they'll always come up with some answer, but a majority of the time it's the same thing, "Well it's personal it reminds me of..." fill in the blank with family member, dead friend, childhood etc.

I'll draw up something similar, they'll say, "I don't know what do you think?" to their girlfriend/boyfriend/friend or whomever is there.

And Instantly I'll say, "You're too indecisive and you're not ready for a tattoo. I'll keep the design in my folder for a year, if you come back you can get it done. If not, you can go down the road to (Rivals shop) and they'll draw your print out."

I think a lot of people do end up just getting the tumblr pic at the other shop. A few I draw shit for decide it's not what they really want, and back out. A small percentage of it get it done. However almost all of the ones who don't get it end up browsing my portfolio and coming back to get something done by me.
