Running is literally the most entry level of sports, if its even worth calling a sport. Its a basic human action, one of the most basic in fact. Its like having competitions to see who can shit the longest or blink the fastest. Difficulty doesn't make something worthy of having the title of sport bestowed upon it. I'm sure watching paint dry for hours on end is difficult, but you won't find many mentally stable people willing to train years upon years to reach top paint-drying time.
