They discontinued it one time for the scalloped version you posted. everyone got really pissed off, so they reinstated it as the 8926OB and gave it a much better Seiko movement instead of the miyota. The black paint will flake off. I can't give you a definitive timeframe on how long it will take, but it will happen. DLC coating is the only coating I'd trust to last the lifetime of the watch.

Well, I got an identical watch to pic related a while ago, but it was stolen. It used to be my dad's, but he never wore it anymore. Anyway I've bought the same one again because I really liked it. What's your take on it?

They are very cheap feeling but it's just something I've come to terms with. Unfortunately I can't stop liking the way they look because the build materials aren't quality. Also I picked the gold because they aren't "stylish" or "serious" watches and I think the gold matches that, in this case.

Just got this. The fuck er who sold it thought the "battery" was broken, so I got it for free. Re searched the brand when I got home. Turns out Certina is a pretty high end brand.

I have a Weekender and I love the thing.

It does have a "loud" tick, but it's nowhere near as bothersome as some explain. Doesn't bother me any.

I have an Easy Reader.

Whatever you do, don't put the watch on a hard surface, especially next to your bed; the ticking will be louder than a wall clock. I usually have it on a bookshelf with a tissue underneath to dampen the noise.
