>>9029316
Not a bad call. Pretty much any insulator that fits under it you could use.

I don't know how warm flight jackets are, or how much space winds up under them on the body, but some current things I think would make good liners:

http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/mens-down-shirt?p=84745-0
http://www.uniqlo.com/us/product/men-ultra-light-down-compact-v-neck-cardigan-131561.html#09|/men/outerwear/ultra-light-down/compact/|
http://shop.havenshop.ca/collections/jackets/products/six-month-cardigan-nylon-black
http://marmot.com/products/details/alpha-pro-jacket

The Marmot is a bit of an outlier, but the combination of relative thinness, Polartec Alpha (more durable than most synthetic insulations, specifically designed to deal with varying activity levels without removing), and the hybrid construction that makes it almost like a second baselayer plus a vest seem potentially good for a liner.

You might also want to look at milsurp liners, even if there isn't one specifically for your jacket. (If there is, that's probably the best idea, just so it actually attaches.)

Budget- the cheaper the better but I'd be willing to pay 200+ for the right fit

not quite. i think the real focus, especially in those articles, no matter ho wishy washy, is that of the self-consciousness of capitalism's demise. the knowledge that accelerationism it happening, in the sense that people come to understand Marx's dialectic shifts and know that the ultimate collapse of capitalism is inevitable, that self-awareness has a particular set of problems. it can lead to the state or capitalists behaving differently, and in this case, it leads to a very different set of aesthetics based on this convoluted period of post-industrial, post-internet angst.
i add post internet because most marxism honestly loses touch when it increases in tech level, so much marxist thought needs to be rebooted for this era, and a lot of accelerationists actually suck at this.

You should probably read more, the transition was a lot more complex than that.

Personally I think that capitalism by definition wont collapse for a long time and is still a pretty solid system. I do however expect a pretty abrupt and revolutionary series of changes away from monetary capitalism to a system based on human capital over the next 100 years or so. At that point I feel like transhumanist technology will make our understanding of human interaction so obsolete that the way in which we organize ourselves wont particularly matter.

What're some good fabrics I could use as the outer layer of making a jacket? I've been reverse engineering some acrynym stuff based on what I've seen on the internet (the TRUEST kind of hacker) and I think I've got the jacket sling figured out. I'm just not sure how they do the backpack under the pit zip and coming through the chest zip, and how they do the gravity pocket. Any acronym owners who could give me reference pics, or explain? I'm thinking of three potential jacket designs. one is a knee-length coat to be worn on its own, one is a normal jacket to be worn on its own in hotter months with the vents exposed OR worn under my thermoball in the winter, OR one that's the first jacket but it zips up to waist length somehow. I'm making my own because I'm too poor and I need a jacket that can specifically hold my surface pro on my person, no jacket thus far has had the pocket space AND breathability I require. Fabric reccommendations for lining and main fabric? For the surface pro pocket, should it be stealthy and interior, or should it be one of the chest flak pockets?

"Technical clothing is any garment that, through advanced fabric, treatment, cut, or construction, provides a function beyond hiding nudity. Some older examples of technical clothing that you may recognize are, traditional or heritage garments like rubber boots and waxed jackets, and armed forces uniforms. Some newer examples are hiking gear and sports/athletic clothes. Techwear or Urban Techwear, is a subset of technical clothing with an aesthetic that is contemporary or futuristic, fashionable/stylish, and is designed specifically for your common city-dweller's day-to-day situations. It doesn't matter how far it is from rain as long as it's properly sealed, although an interior pocket is still an ace idea, simply because you're not going to be removing it outdoors (so, who cares if you have to open the jacket) most of the time and it gives you more design flexibility.

Also, thrift-tier isn't a bad thing unless you're trying to project wealth and a certain sort of class, but I don't think it looks thrift tier.

Who's the demographic of Arc'terryx, acronym and other "high" techwear brands? The general aesthetic looks so sick but who buys all the techy gear rather than more mainstream tech/fashion gear..

Similar to goth ninja garms when it was blowing up at SZ: trust fund kiddies and the artsy fartsy crowd with big credit limits. Cept for this niche it's the milspec otaku and industrial design crowd instead of the artsy fartsy. They love buying this shit.

IRL stores who stock "techwear" are usually positioned where the "too hip for the hip crowd" crowd hang out in urban areas anyway, so they'll buy them, and their friends will ask what they're wearing.

Veilance and Acronym are pretty good with positioning themselves in the high end space and getting a loyal following, so they'll stick around for awhile.

cheers, i assumed it would've been something industrial based, i also though delivery people (having to be out in the elements) but then thought if they could afford this shit then why would they still be delivering.. I'm yet to see any "techninjas" or people dressed fully tech, and i've only seen a handful of gothninjas in the past few years yet everyone implies its "out of fashion" or "outplayed" which i've never understood.

Personally I plan on making most of my wardrobe merino wool and synthetic fabrics within the next year or so. So comfy and practical, while not being as loud or polarizing as gothninja. I don't think I'll go back to pure cotton pants either, my big legs need stretchy material, and I like being able to move without ripping crotch areas all the time.

There have been a lot of modestly-priced brands popping up lately so there's a lot more options for consumers at different price points like this anon pointed out:

Hopefully brands will expand their colour palette to lighter shades and pastels for SS15.

I'm gonna check all those brands out now; I'm still a student so obviously im limited to how much I can spend but I'm saving and working to be able to afford some acronym (next to skin and lightshell) as they're works of art and I want to support the work.

I like the futuristic feel of the techwear garments, I want to dress a mix between post-apocalyptic and techwear, like a juxtaposition between the clean cut fabrics of techwear and the destroyed drapy garms of the post-apocalyptic aesthetic. I must sound autistic..

really, the demographic is whatever the real-world equivalent of richfags from /out/ would be.

all of these brands are basically makers of high performance outdoor and athletic gear. "techwear" is just a weird offshoot where faggots paint the shit they bought from REI black, rant about the death of capitalism and fap to their waifu, molly millions, all day.

but who's actually buying "techwear"? rich /out/ists and mallninjas from /k/ (srsly -- condor, a budget tactical gear manufacturer, rips off TAD designed goretex products for most of their line)

close, but I believe you're incorrect.
the TAD jacket has a logo emblazoned on it by the waist, as your pic shows.
the poster above is wearing the condor summit (or summit zero, which is the same coat, minus the microfleece inner layer as its a warm-weather variant)

i have one too and it's a nice coat, but it also uses condor's knock off of goretex, and has lower quality stitching than the TAD coat...which is acceptable given that the condor product costs ~90, where as the TAD product is 200-500 iirc.

Stop. Just stop with the fucking forced techwear meme. The fact that this thing has been going on for such a long time shows how much cock /fa/ really sucks. Is that effay? Are my hideous workers clothes fucking effay? NO! Same thing.

Now let me tell you that you people are on the road of getting doomed. DOOMED! And when I say doomed,I MEAN IT! I'd rather spend time on a fucking /b/ loli horse cock fucking thread or some /mu/ garbage. I know none of you actually like this HIDEOUS excuse for fucking serious clothing. Everyone knows it. You only like it because you're so insecure about yourselves and actually fucking care what /fa/ tells you. You might see people on the street wearing techwear, and to that I just say : "they fucking fell for it",because they are obviously browsing this HIDEOUS general, and that only shows one how huge /fa/,and in particular techwear generals have become. And to that, I just say : "Fuck off, hideous bastards!".

Kill yourselves if you can't let go of it, sincerely, me.
