Well I'm not a fan to those kinds of rolls but I like the color and the boots have nice tight silhouette.
The strap for the messenger looks thin and cheap. and that shirt bowtie combo is just bad. Whoever put that together is just experimenting or branching off of prep or something.

Filson has tin cloth pants, which are basically a heavy duty duck infused with an oil mix. I have a waxed pair for working outside. Carhartt probably has some good ones and they might have a slimmer fit option that you won't find for most duck.

I see one piece of knitwear and three pairs of jeans in this entire thread. There's plenty of variety to be had. Button downs, tees, chinos, duck canvas.

The americana aspect of jeans and knits is that jeans were invented in America as work pants and they've come to symbolize American heritage. Sweaters are just the OG keep warm garment, which is why they're pervasive in so many styles. When you pair a slim, fine knit black sweater with jeans and Qasas, it can be street/tech wear. When you style straight leg raws with a chunky fisherman sweater and boots, it'll be more americana.

Also, if anyone knows where to find this jacket, please tell me.

Takahiro Miyashita does an amazing job mixing timeless utilitarian pieces with interesting and modern details. Too bad The Soloist is so expensive and hard to get ahold of.

Old school long grandpa undershirt is layered with flannel and a hunting inspired coat but looks hella modern all untucked and with the tapered pants and sneakers. The cowboy hat has a smallish brim and an open crown, which keeps the look away from 'cattle rancher'.

I find it interesting how Americana (or its roots) came to Japan via post-WWII occupation and is now a thing that mainly Japanese makers excel in. They took something that was once associated with domination and made it their own. It's always great to see something thrive and evolve in a completely different context.
Some thoughts, would be a cool topic to explore further though. I wonder if there's anything similar here in Germany with its much shorter occupation time.

I have been noticing something similar in Dolce and Gabanna's obsession over cathedral prints and Renaissance imagery in virtually all of their menswear shows and ads. I know that they're an Italian fashion house, but many of the ads seem evocative of The Three Musketeers or A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare.

Also related are Tommy Hilfiger's new lines focusing on vintage prep.

Not poor, just genuinely annoyed that people cosplay migrant workers, in expensive "vintage" clothing, and pretend they actually do work.
