Alright /fa/, I have $1000 to spend and want to completely redo my wardrobe, except for basic shit like socks/underwear. I want black and blue jeans, T-shirts, Button Downs, a few sweaters, a decent jacket and some versatile shoes. Any suggestions for what brands to get to stay within my budget?

pic somewhat related, the kind of look im going for

Spend ~50% of your budget on a jacket, pick up two pairs of N&F super skinny guys ($130 each), and go to uniqlo for everything else.

Buy second-hand
http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/kind-u/
You could literally buy everything from this one store
Buy a waterproof jacket (Nanamica for example)
Look at Schneider for shirting, knits, pants. Jeans could be whatever, just look. Get 1461s for shoes

>>8910189
honestly if you want so much for just a 1000 you won't be able to cop nice quality.
spend the most on a jacket, like the guy said before, get good jeans too. also decent shoes arent cheap either. you can cheap out on t-shirts and shirts tho, maybe sweaters.
also don't try and cop everything now, better cop some good pieces, and some more next month
quality > quantity

Please OP only buy really basic shit. If you start your wardrobe with tricky ricky, you'll have to start over once you decide you look like a fag. Due to this, you need the building blocks to be inoffensive and versatile in any kind of style.

You can definitely build a great "inoffensive" basic wardrobe with Rick though, Just cop DRKSHDW tees, Detroit jeans, Sweatpants, some Geos or Boots. The only really pricey stuff are shoes and outerwear

Hello OP

>black and blue jeans
get the uniqlo selvedge raws because they're awesome and cheap, then get them tailored. If you want to spend more, A.P.C. denim jeans are considered to be a good starting point
get acne aces or cheap mondays for black jeans
>T-shirts
uniqlo 5€ tees are perfect, fit well and are a great deal pricewise
>Button Downs
uniqlo would again be a cheap but good option, Gant or Brooks Bros. is the way to go if you want to step up
>a few sweaters
uniqlo has decent ones. If you want some good ones, I'd suggest A.P.C. , Our Legacy, Norse Projects... Have a look around
>a decent jacket
Our Legacy, A.P.C., Carhartt, Acne and Norse Projects have nice ones.
>some versatile shoes
Get Acne Adrians, MMM Gats or CP Achilles, I'd suggest picking leather black or white ones. Stan Smith are also a viable option if you spent too much on the other stuff
>also
Get a haircut

I think that you should spend most on shoes and outerwear.
There you have your new wardrobe, good luck bro.

after you get some good shoes and a nice jacket slowly cop good tees and such.

dont listen to a man who thinks selvedge = raws. Uniqlo jeans are just selvedge not raw.

>> No.8910610

>>8910564
are you retarded ? I never said that selvedge = raw

Raw means that the denim material remains unwashed.
These uniqlo jeans are like that.
Selvedge "Self-finished edge" is a traditional method to make jeans. The result is a pair of jeans with a nice, finished edge on the inside.
The uniqlo jeans are like that.

>> No.8910620

>>8910189
Prioritize what you want.

I wear a lot of basic shirts (like simple black/white/grey tees from Uniqlo) and they're cheap as hell but good quality.
I have some HM shit, but the vast majority of it in store sucks dick.

I would cop a bunch of tees from Uniqlo, then a couple of button downs/flannels if you're into that. Note flannels are thin as fuck from Qlo.

Jeans/pants can go from anywhere. I have some Qlo black strech jeans, comfy as fuck. I would get Outliers if I had the money though.

Shoes can be Converse X Purcells if you want white or black, and then get a pair of ZX Fluxes for more techy/comfy wear.

Jacket can go anywhere, don't know your style but it can literally be anything. TNF, Patag, Carhartt, Burton, the list goes on and on.

COP MIDLAYERS. Hoodies, sweaters, fleeces, etc. Do not forget this or you will get fucked the first day when it's too cold for a tee and too hot for a jacket.

Hats are shit unless you're asian/black, get a beanie at best.

I'm a bit of a poorfag, so my response kind of shows that off.

skip the blue jeans or just buy levis if you really need to have blue jeans

james perse for t shirts

button downs could really come from anywhere, I'd try to find some on grailed because otherwise they will eat up a lot of your budget at 150+

Snag some sweaters off ll bean

jacket is up to you, a lot of stuff out there to choose from, I like barbour

shoes get some black clarks desert mali and a pair common projects or buttero.

thats it. Honestly it's going to be really hard to stay under 1000 and have a full, quality wardrobe. I would just buy 1 sweater and one button down at a time to avoid going over budget.

>>8910189
this might help
advise i would give about building a new wareddrobe..
think through every piece
they should all complement each other
no nike neon shit if you into monochrome
before you make a purchase think of fit that that new item could go into nicely.
stuff like black jeans, no need to think
but especially as you drop more money think of how everything will stitch together
Also consider how everything fit on you body specifically.
if there are place near by that have the item try them out before purchase

good luck m8

>> No.8911571

Throwing my advice into the hat.

Get 1 pair of shoes, 1 pair of pants, 1 Stack of T-shirts, and 1 Jacket.

The inevitable reality of developing a personal style is that the entire process is trial and error. The best way to minimize wasting your money is to limit yourself to only buying 1 or 2 pieces a month.

The idea with my method is that at the end of your first month you should have a pretty good idea of what piece you will want next, it's different for everyone which is why this process works better than someone writing you a list of clothing that they would wear or they think is essential.

I know at the end of my first month I would almost certainly get a collared shirt but a lot of people would get a second pair of shoes or another jacket or maybe a pair of shorts or something completely different. If you limit yourself to 1 or 2 pieces a month your wardrobe will grow organically and you will be much less likely to make mistakes because you will have had an entire month to think about what you want. It's spending 1 month on 1 decision VS what most people in this thread will say which is spending 1 day on 20+ decisions.

The first couple months you will look like a basic but you'll save money and make better decisions. Also starting out this way demands that your first pieces be incredibly versatile, so no fuccboi fashion victim shit, if you only have one jacket there's no way you're going to get one with cartoons on it.
