ITT: Art you either own, like or want to buy
I am looking for a piece for my kitchen (above the end of the table). Size would be 70cm*100cm (walls are ~350). Any recommendations aside from the ones I am going to post?

Initially I thought it was one of those overly detailed, kitsch-y paintings you see on deviantart or something but then I realised that it was literally the paint falling into those shapes that made the detail visible. That kind of painting is so cool.

I dig the words and letters as a compositional addition, but the word 'birds' kinda throw me off.
Words are difficult. They can be so concrete and give off a very specific semantic meaning that can totally 'lock' an otherwise vivd or organic abstraction in a piece. Of course, that can also be used as an intended effect, yet if you're gonna use words, choose them very carefully. They can both completely shut down a piece or really make it fly.

the worst part is my wall color. it fucks up my developing room steeze. I figure if we resign our lease I'll likely repaint them. I'm not sure what color to go for to be honest.

I would suggest not putting something abstract in your kitchen. If you really want to, go for something with stronger values and saturation. You don't want muddy neutrals in a kitchen because it suggests dirt. If you don't want something loud, go for something grayscale. Out of what you posted, only the first meets this. But it would be cooler to get an original piece as opposed to a reproduction.

>>8892059
I love drawings with shading done in scritchy scratchy way. Last year I did a self portrait composed from just a ton of parallel line groupings. The paper was big so it was tiring but it was also chill and therapeutic. I'd much rather see value done through line than being blended and formed the traditional way. I think it makes a piece more interesting from different distances.
