General question: How do you guys find a hair style that looks good with your head shape? I have crazy thick hair, and it usually looks fine just being swept to one side. However i'm getting sick of that lazy look. I want to find something that: looks good, is easy to manage, and once again, looks good. I've been slicking my hair back with gel for the past few months, I thought it looked ok, but girls really don't like it at all and that really makes me want to just get a crew cut and forget about growing my hair out at all. have pretty curly hair. I'm stuck in the jewfro phase of it. I stopped cutting it a while ago, as I really want to grow it out, or at least get some good flow going on. Problem is, it only seems to grow out at this point, never down. I've been very close to going full MC Ride and shaving it off without a guard multiple times, but I want that flow so badly, I never went through with it.

Anyway, I don't know what to do. How do I grow some proper flow? Do I go no poo or whatever?

My hair is similar, I don't use shampoo when I shower but wash it every day with warm water and towel dry. About 10 minutes of combing in the morning keeps it in place, keep a comb with me in case it gets screwed up. It won't get to that texture without product every day though, or similar to that with about a month into no poo.

As far as what to ask for, I got it cut for the first time by simply asking for 'Short on the sides, long enough to comb flat on top'. I recommend not getting it as short as it is in the picture though. That trend is p much overdone and makes men without the facial aesthetics + wardrobe to pull it off look like tryhard goofballs. If they ask, say use the highest guard on the sides.

If you're going to use a hair straightener buy some heat protection spray or lotion to use, the straightener's going to dry it out. Also make sure your hair isn't wet when you straighten it (besides the product), some straighteners advertise wet to dry but it'll ruin your hair.

If your hair gets noticeably drier or starts ftizzing/fraying from straightening get a hair treatment that you put in your hair for a couple minutes once or twice a week.

I have short, thick but extremely coarse hair. When I look up styles on the net all I get are upcuts/ivy league cuts but these don't work because my hair does whatever the fuck it wants to do (no hair direction/everything is crazy).

I have no recession of the hair line and no balding. I probably never will due to based genetics.

I'm assuming your a grill, I had hair like this but I grew mine long, as in nearly to my butt, the weight helps keep it looking more curly than frizzy, and I use this curl cream stuff after I have washed my hair so it gets enough moisture and doesn't go frizzy.
