When it comes to things like suits YES it is a necessity. That doesn't mean exactly - because the only way to have that happen is to buy the belt and shoe from the same maker from the same leather. But just make sure it isn't NOTICEABLY a different color.

When it comes to other shoe colors that aren't common, you can experiment a bit more. Like blue, grey, white, green etc. Get my point.

I've been on 4chan for a really long time and it's pretty hilarious how /fa/ has always made fun of MFA for their shitty taste when they do exactly the same things we do, but approximately a year later. /fa/ a few years ago was dadcore/workwear and HATED all street style. now we are on the virgincore/streetstyle tip and MFA is just starting to catch on and we make fun of their shit fits even though all the fits on here suck
