What does ASOS have that is worth buying?

Coming from someone who used to have a wardrobe consisting of 50%-60% Asos, I can confidently say that none of their products are worth it. The only Asos merchandise I still have are 2 gingham dress shirts that sit in my closet in case I need them for some formal event. Not even the plain shirts are worth the price(even on sale). The jeans stretch and loose their shape(Not that the shape was any good in the first place) and it's just overall not a good online store. The website barely functions.

what brands would you recommend for basics?

Well for T shirts, I usually just wear Hanes. Decent quality for the price, nothing special. Good for layering.
Basic jeans, you can pick up some Levis for the same price as Asos jeans. Levis are a lot better. I usually just get some in correct sizing and then send them off to the tailor to have them fitted.
For things like dress shirts, I would search around your local mall and look in stores like Macys, Dillards, etc(if in America). Usually you can find some nice formal dress shirts there for decent prices. Wouldn't recommend if you're planning on wearing them a lot. I just have a few for special occasions.

Well an anon did have some good experience with asos to share in a thread some time ago
said that regardless of the overall quality on the site, asos leather footwear was of an unexpectedly good quality

Your post scared me greatly, as I have ordered a pair of asos boots not an hour ago!

>> No.8728927

Just use it as a retailer for other brands.

>> No.8728928

Bought a Mac from there in January and I regret it. I feel like a fucking idiot because it was such a waste of money like wtf

Their shoes are probably the worst thing they sell. Lucky for you, they have free returns.

>> No.8728942

The pants I bought there are okay? Nothing special, theyre pants but the material feels pretty cheap and goes with the pricetag. I'm sure that for the price you can pick up something way better on sale or even thrift something better.
The coat I bought is just horrid. It was like 60 dollars and I wore it only like three times. Big cartoonish buttons, terrible stitching, awful pockets, it's really poorly made. I was going to sell it on grailed basic but I don't even want to curse someone else with my shit purchase. Might just give it away.

>> No.8728949

Then, do you guys know any decent sites with basic-tier clothing besides Uniqlo?

The ASOS brand stuff is crap. Sweaters are shit quality, t shirts too. Haven't tried the jeans but I heard they're shit too. Bought a varsity jacket long time ago. Sizing was weird as fuck, and materials felt like a sort of Primark piece.

I mainly use it to buy other brands, as sometimes with the sales and discount codes you can get shit cheaper than on the original retailer site.

Do you have fucking anorexia or something? A good deal of my clothes come from asos. Great quality and cheap-ass. Stuff that i bought in 2011-2012 still looks good even though i wear it regularly. All you nigger have to stop talking shit. Just get the skinny fit/slim fit, fits great even if you're a fucking skeleton

>> No.8729382

>>8729032
they don't look that skinny. i ordered some skinny black chinos and i'm probably the same weight as you so i made have made a bad decision

>> No.8729385

I buy a lot of basics from ASOS, i never have had a problem with their stuff. I have an athletic build, so their stuff fits me great.

A lot of their stuff looks pretty cheaply made, but if you just want some basic scoop neck T's or something, I think it's a good place to go.
