Why did you decide to come to /fa/ and what have you gained from it?
Do you ever consider who might actually be giving you advice, and how they might live on the other side of the world in a completely different culture?
How would you describe your own style?

Had nothing to do while in college.
Crysis was getting boring ( came here when crysis was a year old)

Not much, bought some denim, bought some shirts but styleforum helped better than that and since tumblr was invented the inspo shots are easier to find

I don't have too many questions to ask much these days

I'd like to see what people are buying today though.

I think the Europeans, Canadians and Aussies do things a little weird.

Most of /fa/ is from canada and most of the bad fits are from canada or aus.

I think Aussies have trouble getting decent clothes due to some weird price controlling issue

Historically the Europeans have been well dressed on here

Americans seem arrogant more than board culture presents anyways

I don't consider myself to be a fashionable person, but I like to come here for ideas.

My style is pretty normalcore, my only fashion "rule" being that I refuse to wear anything with an insignia or brand name plastered on it. Also I only wear tight pants. Every other aspect of my get-up varies depending on the day.

As for the advice question, I don't take advice posted on 4chan seriously by default, regardless of the board.

I come here because I'm 5ft10 and too skinny to be /fa/ but i manage to be noticeable from wearing $20 basics that fit my style.

I like to look at attractive posters who wear designer brands costing triple figures and pity myself that I will never look as good as them.

I came here from /fit/ a year and a half ago. I don't really take fashion seriously or care if /fa/ likes my outfits. I just like looking good and having chicks eye me like a sale on coach bags. I dress in menswear, heritage workwear, basicbitch, and 90s style street/athletic wear. I recognize that /fa/ is comprised of a lot of boys who aren't from the western US so their opinions aren't relevant to me.

I'm also now addicted to buying shoes and love watches.

Biggest advice I can give is work out. You will look better in bad clothes than someone skinnyfat in good ones. Also don't dress avant garde unless your goal is to alienate yourself from normal people and be a social failure.

Originally cause I couldn't into fashion and bought all my clothes from Walmart, Kohls, et al. When I got myself a steady income I decided I wanted to wear more interesting clothes, so I started lurking here a lot. I learned about a lot of labels and designers and, while I wouldn't say I really have a single coherent style, I like all the clothes I buy and wear.
>Do you ever consider who might actually be giving you advice, and how they might live on the other side of the world in a completely different culture?
Not really. I try to listen to any advice I get here and just take it with a grain of salt.
>How would you describe your own style?
Mostly grayscale, usually incorporating either distressed/destroyed pieces or geometrics. Some skinny stuff and some looser stuff. A lot of my pieces don't really suit my body type that well, but I wear them anyway. Cause I like them.

I'm sorry trunks but, your life is truly going into the garbage. You constantly seek approval of teenagers on an anonymous anime image board while dressing like an Asian pop star while you have the body of a drag queen. Your are honestly so pathetic that you have to get other people to take your picture and have it look like a street snap while it was a heavily contrived photo. Honestly though I pity you, you try to fit in with other internet boards but, no one will even acknowledge you as worthwhile poster and any attempt you make you end up getting laughed at. Been lurking chan very sparsely for years now. Decided to get into fashion about a year ago. Resorted to /fa 'cause of the format and how quick the exchange of information is compared to a forum.

Only really use it to learn about brands, pieces of clothing, inspos etc. I already know what I like and what I don't like, this place just tells me where.

No idea what my style is, it's like a dark americana smart street wear who likes techno. My clothes are mostly monochrome with mixed in washed out or dark colours, or as sticky calls them, "rare hues" . (oxblood, dark browns, dark greens, earth tones basically) but they are mostly combined with black. I've been wearing clothes based around black as far back as I can remember.

The only useful advice I have taken away from /fa is that my clothes must fit. After that it doesn't really matter what you wear.

I've always had expensive taste but /fa made it easier for me to part with my money.

otherwise its a neat forum to talk about design and fashion stuff with people. its pretty cool when you can make a post and someones like "huh i never thought of that" and maybe get them to care a little more about design and the future.

Came here back when /fa/ was dickriding peacoats and Clarks and J Crew lel
Cause /mu/ was getting pretty boring

Never meshed with /fa/s style really but I like the inspo threads and occasionally some neat stuff in WAYWT once in a blue moon

Mostly fun to see people do stupid shit in attempt at being /fa/ like that dude who bought rickdidas to wear w/his zara and look like shit

Idk my style doesnt really mesh with /fa/, I really like comfy-lookin Jap shit. Kapital and White Mountaineering are my fav brands. /fa/ too obsessed with black and everything skinny, which looks gr8 when executed well but 95% of ppl here do NOT have the body type for it. plus everyone here takes it all too seriously, its just clothes. most ppl on the street dgaf what u look like

as much as ppl talk shit i think trunks is a good example he looks like he has fun dressing in what he does and it works w/his frame

>Why did you decide to come to /fa/ and what have you gained from it?
I've always been interested in fashion, but it's never been good for me. I'm really into technology and computers (generalized, but you get it) so fashion doesn't matter at all. Many people who are like me dress like utter shit (typical nerd dress code) so I just wanted to be a bit different, stand out and more confident. I came here just because it seemed like a cool place to talk about that stuff. I've gained basic info on loads of stuff however; ive also made dumb cops because of you fags.
>Do you ever consider who might actually be giving you advice, and how they might live on the other side of the world in a completely different culture?
Yeah, of course I do... but thats what I like about this. I can get opinions from everywhere in the world rather than just britfags who think joey essex is an idol.

>How would you describe your own style?
I've only just recently (lastnight) changed my whole style to skinny jeans, chelsea boots and bomber jackets for a more contemporary, clean and easy to accessorize look. My style before was all about what I could pair with my selvedge denim. I based all of my fits around that because that was my "project".

no ones gives me advice. 98% of this board is so fucking stupid, like i mean legitimately fucking dumb, that they cant comprehend the kind of intellectual plane i inhabit. honestly 4chan in 2014 reminds me of the WoW forums in 06. the internet, society, 4chan - everything - has regressed.

>How would you describe your own style?

>Why did you decide to come to /fa/ and what have you gained from it?

All my teenage years I'd been gaming (I had multiple sponsorship's) and all my friends I had had been made through tournaments and on line. When I went to university I had to choose between semi-pro gaming(I honestly wasn't good enough for the actual big tournaments) and studying. When I decided to quit gaming I really fell in a black hole, and realized I knew nothing and hadn't done anything with my life yet. So I threw myself on my studies and /lit/, /fa/, /mu/ to force-feed myself knowledge and make myself a decent person. I know now I wasn't even that different from most people back then and my panic was unjustified.

Do you ever consider who might actually be giving you advice, and how they might live on the other side of the world in a completely different culture?

I don't really take advice from people, I just like to see what every1 else is wearing(and maybe steal some idea's) and collect inspo pictures.

Always liked fashion, just got accepted to fashion school.
In Vogue/W/V/i-D they don't show the menswear. I knew who Raf, Hedi etc. were, but never saw too much of the mens'. On fa you see the Raf, Yohji, Rick cocksuckers and ngl if I ever end up working for one of them and they told me to... I would ! I'm probably going to major or focus in menswear.
Some of the advice here sucks ass and I feel sorry for the people who do whatever a random guy tells them to! Blood stained shoes? That's no )):
Learn to sew if it remotely interests you. Best feeling is when you don't have to pay $$$$ for a piece you adore, though it also makes you respect the nice stuff you do buy a lot more, esp if the techniques are insane. There are so many cool things you never see on mass produced clothes! which are now luxury/couture elements, but were more common when people still made more of their own stuff.

My style is a lot of black and white. When I go to work I wear slim/elongated blazers, collared shirts or pussy bows, like Saint Laurent or Armani style. On days off I like Plokhov, Helmut, spikey Valentino shoes, lazy day is slacks and a white T. I don't own jeans :o

I've liked fashion for years and thought it would be interesting to discuss with others. I haven't gained a lot I guess, nowadays most of people on /fa/ seem to be into complete different styles, probably because there's a lot of teenagers on here ... Although, it is nice to see what people wear in the waywt and sometimes find some good inspo! I try not to post fits or ask too many questions on here as most of the 'advice' you get is childish and rude anyways. What did you expect, it's /fa/. I think the majority of people on here have no idea about fashion and are just teenagers who drop names and terms to impress. As they don't have their own job (and their parents don't want to pay for it either) they probably don't walk around in designer garments anyways. I would describe my own style as casual, minimalistic.

i love to shop, and i need some inspiration for fashionable shoes before i revert back to stoner status.

>tfw beater shoes are tatty as fuck and falling apart at the seams
>still wear them because fuck it, i've walked in places like amsterdam, maastricht, frankfurt, nuremberg, and berlin with em for 3 years
>move back to the states to some shit place in georgia and patronize the local mall
>hick alpha wannabe wearing preppy old navy shit laughs and points it out to his underage high school sweetheart
>shouldn't have bad feels, because yeah i just lived in europe for 4 years bitch, look at where the fuck you grew up at
>still feel bad

>too skinny to be /fa/
that's not a thing

Why did you decide to come to /fa/ and what have you gained from it?
>I had time last summer, Got bored of lit and diy. I was going to learn how to cook, but I went over /fa/ instead. All my clothes were basic tees, straight denim, superstars and a couple of black vans. So I had a good start.
Do you ever consider who might actually be giving you advice, and how they might live on the other side of the world in a completely different culture?
>People in my city are very unfa, 90% of the fits that I watched in here looked so good/weird to me, Even basics like skinny black trouser and solid tees with Stan smiths are considered Avant-garde. On the other side, I have good confidence, so wearing this kind of basic shit attracted several attention into me, I live in a small city, so I became in a attraction point for bored younger bitches from my last High School.
How would you describe your own style? >Casual Streetwear, All fitting, all tailored, all tidy clothes, I don't wear faded clothes, I don't use worn out shoes, I don't use caps or hats, I don't wear sunglasses. I keep myself clean shaved. My hair, has always been short on the sides, the hottest the shorter I keep it on the side, I have never buzzed it completely and I won't. I keep my body as healthy and Skinny as it can, 6' 140lb.

>was raised with expensive tastes
>have money to blow on frivolous shit, used to smoke tons of weed and stopped, spend even more on clothes.
>dropped 250 this past week alone.
>don't pay attention to the obnoxiously faggy goth shit on the board, rick dunks are kinda cool though, but gothninja is fucking people who lole to cosplay for their actual life because they are unable to take themselves seriously.
>I just use this board for random inspo and the cool things people talk about sometimes.
>I consider my style more casual streetwear mixed with quality basics, spend a lot on shoes and jackets.

>Why did you decide to come to /fa/ and what have you gained from it?
Honestly felt pretty depressed and kinda fell into a rut, like didn't attend school as often, slacked allot, and didn't really go out with friends. Looked in the mirror one day and said "Damn I look like shit, might as well see what /fa/ is about since I spend so much time on here already". Cut my long ass hair, started practicing better grooming habits, and of course started dressing better. Not like suit and tie or Raf Semens Dick Ovens, but basic stuff like button-downs and slim pants with 998s. Lost a little bit of weight too. Really changed how not just people look at me, but also how I look at myself.

>Do you ever consider who might actually be giving you advice, and how they might live on the other side of the world in a completely different culture?
Now that I think about it, not really. But like most of the "creative" boards, I have only used /fa/ as a frame of reference and rarely take any of the stuff here word for word.

>How would you describe your own style?
I've yet to truly define my own style. I simply buy what looks good on me, what goes with my wardrobe, and what's in my price range.
Really considering getting into comfycore though.

>Why did you decide to come to /fa/ and what have you gained from it?

I branched out to other boards I had a vague interest in (I usually browse /a/, /v/, and /mu/). As for what I have gained, I learned the basics of how not to look like shit. Beyond that, /fa/ has exposed me to a lot of clothing I didn't know about.

>Do you ever consider who might actually be giving you advice, and how they might live on the other side of the world in a completely different culture?

Not really, most of the posters here seem to either be Europeans or North Americans. Also, I don't really ask for advice because whenever I do it causes a shitstorm.
