Its called drape and its usually excess fabric in one part of a panel, usually on the neck, instead of cutting out the neck curve you just leave a straight line but you add some length on the shoulders to compensate the lack of the curve on the neck and thus making the drape, sort of like pleating but you just sew and don't pull any thread

Ots ok you don't know shit about clothing which is normal among almost all this board

In pic related we see that the regular panel is counting the neck curve and keeping the shoulders straight, i know they're supposed to be in angle but its for illustration purposes, in the drapey panel we see there's no curve and the shoulders are a bit longer on the top, this is to compensate about the lack of the neck curve so now the extra fabric is going to accumulate on the neck making the drape as long as you sew the shoulders as if they were regular

in terms of how long each seam is laid flat, the left and right seams are not equal (or the back seam or however the rick shirt is constructed). To get the full effect, you'd need to also make the seams not straight and twist slightly around. However you can more easily achieve this effect by simply bunching more fabric onto one seam than the other.

I'll try and compress my questions down a bit (Though I did get some answers regarding the quilting):

A down supplier I am looking at has on offer, according to their website: goose down, duck down, siberarian (presumably siberian) down and hungarian down. Which of these is the best? I've e-mailed them asking about fill-power.

Min. order volume is 500g of down. The Goose down is £80+VAT per kilo and the duck down is £70+VAT per kilo (assuming prices haven't changed). Is this price about right for down?

Do you know of another supplier in the UK who perhaps has more information readily available or who is cheaper?

How do you quilt something without getting cold spots fucking everywhere? Someone in the other thread suggested herringbone quilting. IDK how easy this will be to do with a sewing machine.
