Marlon Brando was clearly balding at a young age

How did he get away with it? He was probably the biggest male sex symbol of the 1950s aside from Elvis.

>> No.8646682

Maybe it wasn't a thing that needed to be gotten away with

Maybe this whole balding stigma is a concentrated effort to sell scalp paints, wigs and plastic surgery

>> No.8646885

>>8646676
prob cause in those days traditional masculinity and the things that come along w it like balding were more important to what made guy seem cool/sexy/desirable. its not that way atm so something like balding seems a lot worse

Guys got married at a younger age so they weren't as keen on sabotaging each-others egos or obsequiously valuing the demands of women.

He later kept it shaved as seen in Apocalypse Now.

He was also really fucking cool. When you're that cool, people don't care. (I.E balding Gosling in Blue Valentine -- plenty of wome would still fuck him).

He also made the Perfecto jacket what it is today. Marlon, returning WWII Vets & Nazis made the leather jacket timeless.

Also, these are from the set of "The Wild One". Marlon Brando & Mary Murphy star.

10/10 movie if you haven't seen it.

I bet that jacket looks stupid as fuck in any pose other than shown.

Like you've put on a jacket two sizes to small.

i'm not /fa/ at all, really. i wouldn't dream of wearing this monochrome shit most of these kids appear to favour.

but i assert that perfecto style jackets are unwearable with a small exception made if you're in the vicinity of a motorcycle that you ride.
even then people will be questioning why you did not wear a different kind of jacket.
i am attributing at least some of the blame to Brando, among other popular characters that wear leather jackets.
they are costume-tier unless you are an overweight biker, preferably with grey in your hair.

What do you guys think of the "On the Waterfront" jacket? It's a green plaid bomber type deal and I think it's reversible, black leather on the other side.

lots of net fits look like shit because no one knows how to size on fashion forums, but when you actually fit into it it's great. The fit model looks fine.

I am definitely one who believes leather jackets, nearly all leather jackets, are unwearable. I know it's a joke on /fa/ that leather jackets are a joke, but I have never felt leather jackets can be pulled off. I'm not trying to rile up the pro-leather anons, I'm just stating my opinion.
