correct answer. i can see myself still wearing these into grandpa age

as much as i love common projects, the price makes them internet fad/hype.

Every pleb has a pair of vans, if you just want to have the same shoe as everyone else good for you. But CP's are worlds greater than vans, they aren't even in the same league so I'm not sure why you're trying to justify your shitty purchase acting like they're a better option.
Btw vans cost like 5$ to make, so you just paid a higher markup than you would on CP's, and enjoy buying a new pair every 6 months.

>> No.8641191

>>8641115

You do understand the difference is not only design and materials, but BUILD QUALITY.

CPs will last way longer than vans will and will look BETTER as they age, instead of worse like vans.

I'm not hating on vans, I have a pair myself and think they look great with a lot of fits.

But CPs can elevate a simple fit by miles unlike vans which might even bring down a fit.

CPs took the Menswear world by storm back in '07, especially the all-white ones, and disregarding any form of bias I have for owning them they are quintessentially regarded among fashion editorials and circles as the ultimate casual leather sneaker in terms of minimalist design. The all-white lows are a very organic piece that complements virtually any outfit, hell even suits. Raggedy ass canvas plimsolls can't do that.

>>8641516
'Skinny jeans' is obviously a very nebulous description for their fit. I'm a thinking of a pair that doesn't hug the legs skin-tight but is 'just-right' and complements one's body-type. For example, a 6'5'' lanky motherfucka is going to look stupid wearing super skinny jeans but a 5'6'' dude might not because it adds to the illusion of length

Second hand CPs are also far more affordable than brand new ones. Also, you can't base your belief on mere observation. Do you have any idea what the median salary is in your locale? What ratio of households even own automobiles? How would your region compare to other regions? We've been over this as you can imagine, in other threads about CPs (every last 50 billion of them), there are several ways to justify an item's price, and yes you might include the reputation of the brand (or "hype factor", but i don't think there's much hype behind these shoes, not the right word) in those. The fact that it's timeless has nothing to do with the price, a tee-shirt is timeless too, and it could be any price.

The quality plays a big role, but I think it's mostly the design, as surprisingly, very few shoes get both the design and the quality right, in the low top white leather sneaker area. Some items seem to either cost a lot and be good, or almost nothing but suck and everything in between sucks too. Most bombers are like that too, the high end ones are perfect, almost 100% of the low end ones are atrocious in every aspect...I think CPs can get away with being that expensive because of how little serious competition they have to put up with.

"indigo" is such a broad term, what the fuck are you guys even on about ? It's never been weird to wear any kind of dark blue pant, ever. What will or will not go out of style is the different cuts, and there's a clear shift towards slimmer jeans that began like 10 years ago with Slimane etc

And faded denim isn't out of style either, the thing is people think faded denim is "normal" and easy to come by, when really it's extremely hard to find a good looking pair that isn't very expensive, and it's still one of those "fake vintage" items because they look used when you buy them brand new.

Hi guys I need SEVERE HELP. As in I've worn a shitty ugly worn down pair of Timberland boat shoes for the past year help. I have money now to get some nice stuff, around 150-200 dollar range.

I want everyday shoes. I'm 29, italian, usually wear jeans and button-up shirts with the sleeves rolled. I don't think I'm really a sneaker kind of guy. So I'm leaning towards loafers or other slipon style shoes.

I want something as comfortable as possible, with a good sole that has some traction, but that isn't embarassing. I don't know what's considered lame in terms of nice casual stuff. I'm trying to avoid slipons with the little elastic corners, but I don't know if stuff with like full loafer uppers and a rugged sole is okay, stuff like pic related.

>reading comprehension

I said NOT ONLY design and materials, meaning yes design and materials are important BUT how it's built is a huge factor as well.

This is why the argument to buy solely because it's cheap is silly. You should buy because of build quality as well and these tend to be on the more pricey side.

>and there's a clear shift towards slimmer jeans that began like 10 years ago with Slimane etc
Slim is on the way out. Right now, pretty much only jeans are slim. Other pants like chinos are already getting bigger.

10 years of skinnies is enough, they will vanish over the next years.

That's not the same thing bro.Of course, shoes are cheaper than a car.

But a basic car is around €20k, BMWs start at €40k. 40k/20k=2. So twice the price.

A basic pair of shoes that most of people would wear is under €100 in my country. A pair of CPs is €300. 300/100=3. So 3 times the price.

I don't know about that. I think the extremes will go, and the slim straight will become the new "normal" jeans. Chinos can be found in all sorts of cuts, some of which are very close to the body, and others not so much.

You can play around with lots of different cuts, I like oversized styles too but now the typical 90's "roomy" cuts look awful to me. Not a fan of proper skinny cuts either.

I love it. Best thing ever is to see a bunch of skinny men walking around in skinny jeans, but then again; I'm also gay so most likely biased.
