They're almost CP level quality. Leather isn't as supple but they stand up pretty well to some heavy duty city walking and they aged pretty well imo (mine are 1.5 years old). Dunno about the cupsoles, but yeah they're made in Portugal and I bought them on Rakuten directly from a store that communicates in English

Like I said, buy fucking leather sneakers so they'll stretch, not poly or nylon some other stiff fabric. Get shoe trees larger than your size with a spring if you're so worried about stretching the length, make sure they're pushed all the way to the toe to maximize stretch
