Are peacoats still /fa/?

I've always wanted one but I was always a fat fuck so those wouldn't look good on me, now that I'm a decent body size I wanted to cop one.

theyre a classic item so in that regard yes. Wear a neutral one with good tailoring and it can be fashionable. Its not the jacket of the moment though.

Eh, half the dudes at my Uni have one.

Not that this should deter you. I think it's dumb to stay away from an article of clothing because "it's played out lol not cool anymore"

If you like it and you rock it, fuck other people who are wearing it poorly.

But, I still prefer other sorts of jackets.

If it's single breated I don't think it's a peacoat

although, I agree that double breasted ones look kinda dumb unless you actually are a giant, barrel-chested sailorman

I have this "peacoat" from ameican apparel, cheap as shit, in gray.

I actually like it a lot,

also bear in mind that most peacoats are not particularly warm, unless you have nord blood ~12oz wool is not ideal for harsh winters

It fits me like this one. The one in this pic has a different lapel and necks. Rain season is upon me... It's made of wool and is comfy as fuck. I'm 185cm.

Is a coat has a "zip-through hood" does that mean the hood is removable? I found a half-decent coat with a shit ugly hood

Mate, mate.. Don't tell me about fucking hoods. This piece of shit >>8595902 is from an airline company (I think it's either for runway guys of captains). It had a fucking hood that could fit a watermelon and no lapel. It was literally a Merlin hood. I took it to a seamstress and said "fix it". That's what I got, I just want feedback. Other wise I can use it as a bathrobe. And I think that yes, you can remove those hoods.

Duffel coats now is what peacoats were back then.

In a few years duffel coats will be overplayed and you'll just have to find something new.
