I am female who recently lost a large amount of weight (65lbs so far). I am still overweight (165lb at 5'6, still losing), but I look much better.

But I'm having a huge roadblock when it comes to clothing. Because of self-confidence issues, and also because I kept having to replace my wardrobe, I don't have any nice 'girly' clothes. I'm currently sitting here in a pair of cargo pants and a men's v-neck from the Gap.

Could I get some inspiration, and motivation, to find a nice feminine style that I could adopt, so I can stop dressing like a dyke?

The worst part is I kept being drawn to the techwear threads. Sometimes I wish I could just turn into a dude and wear pic related everyday. Is it even possible to dress techwear without looking like a man?

constructive criticism here: you need to start with the sticky and lurk tons to simply get your wardrobe down to basics. get new basics that dont cost to much right now while you are still losing weight. there is no need to spend tons of money on nice clothing when it will be oversized in several months. so get some regular black skinny jeans and black and white tshirts for the next couple weeks! it will look good anyway! and good job so far and good luck

When it comes to fashion, I find the best way to get a sense of style going is in these steps:
- Look at outfits and identify what you like the most
- Examine them and see exactly why you like these items
- Buy

Obviously dressing for your body type is a thing, but I wouldn't worry too much about it - just be realistic. It's important to have fun because fashion is a way of expressing yourself which is corny but true.

Hey seriously, congratulations on losing so much weight so far, you're doing a great job. The fact that you're being so on top of it and so diligent and modest about it already puts you leagues above a lot of the other fat people that come on this board asking for advice on how to dress well while being fat, showing no will of ever losing their weight, and then get all pissy and defensive when we tell them that they need to lose weight if they want to look /fa/.
Good luck, and godspeed. Give yourself a pat on the back.

do you know your measurements? it looks like your bust is somewhat in line with your hips, and that the narrowest point of your waist is beneath your bust.

if you want to dress more feminine, the easiest way to do that is emphasize your waist, and wear feminine clothing (dresses and skirts). since you're still trying to lose weight, you're better off not investing in expensive pieces (pic related from uniqlo).

As far as the size changes - they have a point, but you could easily start copping accessories, footwear, and other gear now, and a baselayer tee that fits as intended now will make a nice oversize in a few months.

For the aesthetic, I wouldn't mind bringing in colour, similar to the original pic I posted, or, going with lighter shades, with the mindset of targeting a bit of lunarcore without the autism. I am more so drawn to interesting textures over plain fabrics, like those 'commando sweaters' with the vertical knit pattern and the smooth elbow and shoulder patches.

Monochrome black looks amazing, and I do have quite a few dark/black pieces, but I do want to diversify my wardrobe a bit.

Hmm. It was not linear at all. At my worst, which was 230lbs at 5'6", I was dating a man that was heavier than you. We both promised to lose weight, and it worked out well for a while.

I lost something like 50lbs, and he actually lost nearly 100lbs. But through the forces of 'fuck it', the dumbass ended up repacking on almost all of it, (at least 60lbs worth, last I saw him).

It was a cycle of yo-yo dieting on my end for many, many, months, while I tried to eat healthy, but failed because he kept influencing me. I'd lose 5, and gain 10, lost 15, maintain it, then gain it again. Ended up breaking up with him, and since, I broke through that bullshit and am back on track.

-----

Back to /fa/ though, here's a good idea of what I'm talking about when I say I accidentally end up dressing like a dyke sometimes. I have some well fitting pieces, but also a lot of over-sized pieces that I try to still use because it sucks having to donate endless trash bags of clothing to goodwill.

Back from shopping. Still need infinite more clothing, but this is where I'm at so far:

From H&M:
Basic Tanktops $6.95 x 4 (I had zero tanktops before, because of weight loss)
Black Leggings $12.95
Sundress $14.95
Flats that match sundress: $14.95
Less autistic beige sneakers: $29.95

And a stripey pink 3/4 sleeve shirt from Aeropostale for $25

Keeping it affordable, while I still lose weight, for a grand total of $134.21

Unlike my previous hambeast state, I blame genetics for my inability to tan. I have redheads in the family, and I am pretty freckled myself.

Goddamn it, I wish my weight loss would be faster. I keep looking at how large my calves and upper arms are.

Would you say it would be better to wear my sundress with, or without, black leggings? Also, I got the receipts for all this shit, so let me know if you think the fit is weird.

You're almost there, are you going to get surgery for your skin? Every girl I know that has gotten thin had her boobs deflate into tubey things with too much skin

Oh and don't forget the accessories! Get a couple pendants/necklaces and bracelets. They go a long way.

I'm a little flabby, but no real excessive skin. I think it's just a matter of continuing to lose more.
I do wish my tits were perkier, since they did suffer some deflation, so they are below average, but I've seen worse.

OP, why?
Collect inspo, plan future purchases, and continue to lose weight but I don't see much point in buying new clothes until you're at your preferred/ideal weight.

Because weight loss takes months. I'm not going to be buying expensive shit yet, but I can still start cultivating a style with cheap basics.

Thanks, these are my favorites because I could see them working for me. Posts like >>8573232, though, it's too similar to clothing I already have. Much too masculine. It looks great on her, since she is qt petite, but I'd just look like a chubby lesbian if I tried that.
