5/3/1 is a great program. The only difficult part is establishing your 1-rep maxes in the gym, which should only take you one session anyway. The 'boring but big' template is great.

Westside Barbell for skinny bastards is great too but you have to program it yourself; it only gives you the list of exercises and rep ranges to choose from.

Quite a bit of people can't do a single pullup.

I'm almost exactly at one year of training 3-4 times a week, and I can still only do 15 pull ups fresh.

Sedentary people simply do not use their back muscles for anything so they stay at their genetic minimum.

bodyweight fitness is so much more /fa/ than your run of the mill barbell routine. executing a perfect handstand push > overhead press.

>> No.8520399

start working out immediately and do a beginner's routine like Starting Strength or StrongLifts 5x5. More important than a routine is proper technique because otherwise you will hurt yourself and humility because there will definitely be dudes and possibly even girls who can lift a shitload more than you.

If you're trying to get bigger, there are "recommended calorie intake" calculators on the internet. Try one out, and then add 500 calories to whatever recommended calorie intake is given to you. If you're trying to lose weight/fat subtract 500 calories from your recommended calorie intake

Different things work for different people. The problem is that people on this board see 10/10 guys with chiseled, square jawlines and impeccable facial features who don't lift and think "Hey, I don't have to lift either!"

A decent workout routine and wearing basic, well fitting clothes (even shit from Target) will get you laid way more than being a pasty, out of shape fuck in a $2,000 Rick Owens Jacket

well i started off skinnyfat i guess so was like 32 w and size S in tops. Then i went on some stupid ass bulk (th-thanks /fit/) and got really fat and was like 36 waist and L tops. I wasn't in fashion then tho (why would you be if you're that fat?) so don't have any clothes from that time worth keeping anyway. Seems then I've lost looads of weight im like 30w (wear 32 with a belt) and medium in basically everything. It varies tho, lots of t-shirts and sweaters i can wear in small but sometimes M ends up being too small like that ervell sweater i posted. Hope it will fit eventually ;(

i hardly do any exercises anymore

A-dumbell shoulder press, barbell rows, curls (5-8 reps, 3 sets)
B-dumbell chest-press, chin-ups (chin-ups i just do bodyweight, can do 20 reps on a good day)

workout three times a week, alternating A and B

but basically i just got builtfat and strong on that routine +squats and deads, and now don't eat very much and have given up on the squats and deads because i like wearing slim jeans. I wouldn't advise going down the bulking up and getting fat first route though, its a /fit/ troll that has since been exposed.
