What's a good place for an 18 year old to shop? I don't have a huge budget since lolcollege. I really don't like the idea of blowing 50 bucks on jeans. But I also don't want to get clothes that fall apart within a month.

My style is a mix between general casual wear and "preppy".

Pic related is me. Not what I wear everyday, but what I meant by "preppy". Woulda' worn my boat shoes but they needed a scrubbing and I was in a hurry.

Friends of mine recommend places like H&M, but I've never been there.

Why not go where your friend recommends and have a look around? Look around the other clothing stores around.

It is a clothing store. Walk in, use your eyes to look around, try on the thing before you buy it, be as objective as possible when trying something on (outfit on mannequin might not look good on you, this is not a negative thing, you said outfit just might not fit your body type), and if you like it exchange money for goods.

Also walk out if you aren't feeling it, don't feel obliged to buy anything, and dress for yourself above anyone else. Nothing lamer than some dude looking uncomfortable as shit in threads he doesn't even like.

you are trying to dress 'menswear' but not doing it well
if you want to dress like this
get some oxford shirts from uniqlo (slim fit), some linen shirts too for warmer weather. get slim fit chinos but avoid that old man colour you are wearing them in now. get a pair of raw denim jeans. really reddit mfa is better for what you want.

you can't do it on a budget, you'll look like a badly dressed dad

OP there is nothing wrong with patterned sports shirts like that, if you actually want fashion advice for sane people (because this board is full of crazies with retarded brains like myself) go to reddit mfa

people on here will have you looking like Simon Cowell walked into a Glasgow bomb and stepped out with 1970s B-movie star apparel made of shiny threads.

Trust me, if you take our advice no one but us will think you look good. People will laugh at you and you'll end up committing suicide.

Save yourself and leave. You aren't like us. People with no lives who don't care anymore and have shit tons of cash.

I have selvedge denim that is 4'years old that is slightly faded with high contrast fades.

$150-200 gets you 4 years of wears.

Levi's are $40.... And they don't look as good even on day 1 and last 6 months of wear until they look like shit due to cheap dye

Yeah some h&m jeans good. Most aren't.

I have the selvedge pair they did still

So so bad quality.

Their best jeans are the elastaine included ones with super dark indigo dye though

Idk if they had any true raw denim in their past. They just default to the "shrinks in wash hurr Durr bleed" nonsense. I think everything they sell is at least 1 wash denim
