How does one escape mall tier? I only know clothing stores in malls and large department stores, all of them operate by the fast and cheap principle. The other end is designer which is obviously marked up. Is there any strategy to find nice boutiques that sell durable clothing within reasonable prices? Don't suggest brands pls, as there aren't any american labels in europoor. How do you do your offline shopping?

You find luxury outlet malls or areas that cater to upper class customers.

Back home we have a place called Market Street and it has a Brooks Brothers, Allen Edmonds, J Crew (lel), Vineyard Vines etc.

So basically where ever there are rich people, there will be similar shops near-by.

>>8442947
lel, the brands reddit always recommends. Are they even good?

define good. if you mean quality yeah they are good.

Brooks Brothers is actually pretty good for the material/price.

Their suits, which they are known for, actually are cut well and don't fit like mall tier clothes (aka boxy, fat).

I bought a Cambridge suit from them awhile ago which was $1k but they had a %30 off discount which was awesome. Plus they usually have an in-house master tailor who alters the suit to your fit.

Allen Edmonds are good for formal wear shoes. Again perfect for weddings and the office.

The other brands though, J Crew and the like suck pretty hard. They probably have about 6% of actually good stuff. The material for the price just doesn't match.

But that doesn't mean all of the is total shit. I found a nice pair of shorts there and it fills its purpose, but I wasn't expecting bespoke or anything like that.

How tall are these guys? Honestly, I feel like I can actually do this shit, it's just that I haven't really done the research. Is it really competitive for this kind of modeling?

uh, for runway most are 6'2. not taking into account ppl like hedi who take whoever they want off the street. ya its competitive. for editorial its more like 6'0 to 6'4 (yea google says 5'10 or 5'11 but fuck you) for corporate height doesnt rly matter.

that said, it's still a douchebag brand. the guys who started it are ex-wall street traders or s/t. but essentially it all just looks like rebranded polo polo's and chubbies shorts

Hungary; plebs here consider Zara and Nike to be high end. There are designer stores in fashion streets, but then again these are brands where you pay for the label and the status symbol, not just the quality. They typically cater to consumer tourists.

First learn how to recognize quality clothing (/fa/ can help you I'm sure).
Go to the fashion streets and look for smaller shops away from the big malls tourists go in. I'm sure you can find quality clothing that isn't big brands if you just look around the fashion streets more carefully.
The only way to find what suits you is to look for it or ask friends who dress well where they get their cloths.
Alternatively catch a train to Vienna, it's not far away and the ticket should be cheap. Check out the 7th district, Neubau. It's full of small boutiques that sell quality indie label clothing for relatively reasonable prices. The 1st district, where tourists shop is not much different than the big streets in Budapest though, but if you look around you can find what you want too.
Also don't be afraid to get basics from cheap chains, they do have some stuff witth reasonable quality if you just know what to look for.
